| update::: i just started my babygirl on NV RAW chicken. i went to my local pet store and already, the only other customer was raving about how great raw is. so i'm sold. my concern, would delilah like it. i got home and defrosted 1 medallion in hot water and gave her half. she was scared to go near it so i sat with her and fed a little to her and she took to it right away. she licked the bowl clean and couldnt wait for the next feeding!! im so happy. i hope she continues to eat this without a problem. if that's the case, i dont think hypo incidents are in her future!!! thank you everyone for all your knowledge and great advice on this wonderful meal alternative. i cant believe my vet didnt mention this option!!!! thank you thank you!! from me and DELILAH!!! she is a very happy and spoiled pup now |

| Sadiesamie, I only just now saw your update. I soooo feel your pain. I've also been driving my Hubby nuts with all my hours on the computer, researching diet, supplements, raw info, etc. I have only two words for you: SUSAN DAVIS. I cannot recommend her highly enough. She spoke with me for an hour on the phone on friday. Every single minute was worth it. She outlineD a whole new diet for Mango, along the lines that Wylie's Mom had told me. Mango's symptoms, that had been unrelenting for a week (vomiting), have stopped. She also gave me 2 supplements (much, much lower cost than your $250.00-yikes!) - and explained to me very thoroughly what each one does, and how long Mango should be on them for. One is to reduce inflammation and the other is to assist in the digestion of protein and fat, which is so very important in their recovery and sustained good health. She went over every aspect of her diet, knew about every dog food I named, dry/raw - if she did not have the fat/protein content at her fingertips, while still on the phone with me, she would look it up on her computer. All this done to make my baby's diet specific to her and her symptoms - no generic cure-all spouted at all!! For the $75.00 I spent for that whole hour, I feel that I came out (and Mango) absolute winners! She has given me peace of mind, as I watch Mango improve day by day. Good luck! Lauren

| i wonder what my vet would say about NV raw. when i took kiele in for her skin because she was biting so much that her leg hairs were breaking she told me that it could be kieles food. That i need to get her off anything (including treats) with corn, wheat, chicken , or beef that i need to feed something with venisen, rabbit, kangaroo or something of that nature. so she seems pretty educated. I wonder if i can call and talk to her?

Nature's Variety Raw Frozen Diets for Dogs and Cats Good luck! Lauren Edit: I know in my research, I did see another manufacturer that produces one specifically I think, without corn, wheat, etc. I will search for it and post it here tomorrow

One hundred percent grain free, organic vegetable and fruits and hormone and antibiotic free, free range meat sources. They also have some exotic flavors for the allergic crew. I have seen pups with allergies do really well on their Pheasant Formula!

I am hoping Susan Davis can do a weekly appt. Even at like 6:00 will work. it's a little more to do the w/end calls. And right now every bit we can save will help immensely. We have already hit the 7,000 mark since last June. It has been crazy. I totally know what Vicky (Bleu Boy) is going through. Her vet expenses happened in just a few months. It's something you are just not quite prepared for but you do whatever you have to do at the moment. I would love to help her out but unfortunately I am struggling myself and paying a balance. I am praying this will come to an end. I do not mind the folow up UPC tests and labs. But for a while there we were at the vet every Saturday and having a 400-500.00 bill every week. It was insane. It's not good when our babies are sick... it really takes a toll on us. AND NO ONE understands this but our friends on YT. The girl I work next too... I swear if she tells me ONE more time. "COME ON THEY ARE DOGS"!!!! I just might have to slap her. LOL... just kidding. But she is relentless. And the thing is... I never involved her in my conversations, she listened as I was talking to my boss about coming in late last Friday so we can go and see the Holistic vet. I already told her that I didn't appreciate her comments and that it is none of her business. It makes me so mad. Yes as we ALL know... they ARE dogs! But they are not "just" dogs. It's nice to know there are others out there as head over heels in love with their babies just as I am. ok- thanks for listening. (reading) :-) | |

This thread has so much useful info on it, I keep making a copy that grows and grows, because I know I will keep referring back to so many useful posts here. If there is anything else you can think of, please keep it coming. I can't believe how much I am learning/sharing; it's just so great. Lauren Lauren Lauren

| Primal Pet Foods Thats a shame! Primal and NV are also a bit pricey. I am thinking of getting my own meat grinder and using the Primal NV recipes!!!
