| 12 week puppy with few baby teeth? I recently got a puppy, he's almost twelve weeks, and my vet said it was unusual for him to not have most of his baby teeth by this time. I was wondering if anyone else experienced this with their yorkies and what happened. thanks |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | Congrats on your baby!!! How much does he weigh at 12 weeks? If he is unusally small, it may be that he is slower in developing - as I found w/ my Marcel - who was smaller and slower. Some vets are not as familiar w/ yorkies - so it's good that you're here bc if you have questions, there'll be a lot of answers!

| Feather is 11 1/2 months and 2.5 lbs. She never had any baby teeth on the bottom in front but she did get her permanent teeth finally. She was spayed yesterday and had 9 baby teeth pulled. I wouldn't worry too much about baby teeth. It's that many less to be retained and have to be pulled later. lol |

| Thanks for your replies. That's interesting to hear about Marcel and Feather. My guy is 2lbs 2oz. The vet was a little concerned that he is slow developing because of this and the fact that neither of his testicles have descended yet. And she only feels one in his abdomen. She said she's often seen one undescended, but not two. She thinks that these two issues combined are a possible sign that he may have some health problems. |
