Fastest three legged dog in the east! Hi everyone. I've introduced myself and my lil' Buddy.. now I'm curious and have a question. You can't tell by the pics I've posted but Buddy only has three good legs. When we got him at 3 months the lady we bought him from said his back leg has always been straight (It's completely straight and doesn't bend at all.) The vets (three different ones) have all said theres no real threat with him having a bad leg and he uses it when he runs and stands. The only thing the vet told me was to keep his weight in check and only let him get around 10 pounds... well Buddy doesn't over eat.. actually he barely eats so its not like hes being over fed. He's 14 pounds though. Anyway, I was just wondering if anyone has ever had a yorkie that had a straight back leg? The vet said it was probably broken when he was born because it doesnt seem to bother him. It's like he doesnt even realize its different. It worries me that his leg is straight, he jumps off the couch like he's a super rabbit or something! I just want to keep him safe! Thanks for listening.

Buddy is adorable. It's amazing how dogs adapt to whatever is thrown their way. He's lucky to have you as his mom. Welcome to both of you.

Oh My GOSH!! I have Rocco who has a bad leg like that!!! WOW You are the only one I know who has another dog like that! His back leg is straight but it does bend but it bends at the hip- it's his left back leg and when he runs, he tucks it up underneath him. He is 2 now and weighs around 15 pounds! I'm attaching a pic of him - its over a year old but if you look at his back leg its straight as an arrow. And I have 4 yorkies and he runs faster than all of them lol! I found him by chance in an on line ad when I was looking for estate auctions to go to. The breeder was trying to find him a home without having to put him down. He's incredible! The most loving dog and his favorite game is fetch! He loves to play that game and I think he would play it until he collapses so we have to watch that, lol. My vet took xrays when I first got him and said it was a birth defect and nothing could be done. When we first got him his back legs dragged behind him, he was pitiful looking. But after about 3 weeks of having a house to run around in he was up and running with the rest of the pack! Welcome to YT! I'm excited there's someone else here like my Rocco.

Ok darnit it says I can't upload Rocco's picture because it exceeds the bytes or something. Does anyone know how to fix this?
