Peeing A Lot
 
I just noticed that Ariel pees A LOT. After she gets a drink of water, she pees on her pad maybe 10 minutes later. But then, I notice her going again 5 minutes after that (without drinking). She keeps going back to her pad, even when her pee is the size of a penny on the pad.

Is this something I should be worried about? I expected this of her when she was younger, but she's 8 months old now, and I would assume she can hold it in much longer. My older dog only goes about twice a day, and she never went as frequently as Ariel does when she was that age.

She could have an UTI. Or if you've noticed an increased in drinking water...it's a symptom of diabetes. Either way I'd take her to see the vet.

There hasn't been an increase in her drinking water. She just pees often after she's had a drink. She's scheduled for a routine check up later on this month, and will make sure to bring this up to the vet. Should a urinary tract infection be something I should be VERY worried about?

I had a similar problem with Tucker. A friend pointed out to me that he began peeing more at the same time I started giving him dried chicken strips. I stopped the chicken strips and he was back to normal. Have you changed your food or your treats? Just a thought...

I've seen an increase maybe in the past 1-2 weeks? I haven't really noticed it much, but I was home a majority of the day today, and I noticed she kept going to her pad frequently.

She's been on raw for 2 months now. But, I did buy some new treats. :confused:

It does sound like a UTI and I would not wait. It would be miserable...

Thank you.

I'll call the vet tomorrow and try to bump up her appointment. I just did a quick search and found that the longer UTI is ignored, it can lead to kidney failure :eek:
