grooming tables & standing dryers... I have gotten so much great advice on other products that I decided to ask for more recommendations. I've been grooming Zoe myself and I'm actually starting to get pretty good, I think anyways. I still need to get a grooming table and a standing dryer. I'm wondering if there are any particular features that I should be looking for? Does anyone have any recommendations? Thanks! |
stand dryer I like the Oster stand dryer with 4 settings: air, low, med, and high. You will never regret having one to groom with. then all you need is a grooming table and yer ready to go!!!!! That dryer and table are the best investment I have made.(not counting the dogs)LOL It is soooooooo worth the money!! You will have better grooming results and the dog will learn to stack and stand still while on the table. Good luck!!!!!!!!!! When is your first show??LOL Lynn |
I love having a grooming table! At the time I bought mine I had a westie and a miniature dachshund so I think I could probably get away with a smaller one, now. I have been looking at the round swivel one at PetEdge. Does anyone have it? If so, how do you like it? Is it too small? |

Thank you! That is what I needed to hear! You too, Cyndi. I appreciate feedback from those who have bought them. It helps me decide. |
Petedge.com has a lot of different kinds to choose from, and the prices are reasonable. |
ok. The oster dryer is really nice but I just don't have the cash to put out that much on a dryer and grooming table together right now so I was wondering if anyone has any ideas about this one I found: http://www.drsfostersmith.com/Produc...All&Nty=1&pc=1 Or would I just be wasting my money and should figure out a way to get the oster? Thanks. :) |
I bought a grooming table (came with arm and loop) and an ex-pen from this company. http://www.southeasternpetproducts.c...Affordable.htm The two items with shipping were less thanwhat a lot of the companies wanted for just their table without an arm. They seem to be very well constructed. I have used the table some and the ex-pen a lot! Table has been used in my home and taken to two shows and used too. |
thanks for the info on southeasternproducts, reasonable prices. |
Oh darn! Well ....so much for a good deal....seems the exercise pens have been discontinued.....and when I looked at the table...cannot remember if it had wheels or if it was just a cart to pull all the other stuff...anyway, it is discontined too.... Jeez....and its not like I have to worry...to awful much......I DON'T have my Yorkie yet.....:quizzi: :eyetearss |
dryers Dont get the metro air force dryer!!!!! It is toooooooooooo strong!!! I have one for when I showed Labradors and it blew the water right off the dog!!! It can also injure a toy dog as its too strong. The other dryer, I thnk its called a Duck, should be ok, but I have never used one. Please try to save up for the Oster!!! You will never regret it!!!! Tell your husband, kids or relitives that Christmas is coming!!!hint hint hint LOL Ryans Pet supply is a great place to get ALL your grooming needs also. Good luck, Lynn |

I want a "good" one - we'll have these dogs 15 years if we're lucky and I'm spending $40 a shot per dog so I think the Oster is a worthwhile investment. I'd like one on a stand so that I can be totally hands free for my dogs though and I couldn't find how tall this one is. Good Luck and let us know what you end up doing! :p |

Thank You! |
Well, I've decided to save up and go with the oster since everyone so highly recommends it. I think I'm also going to go with a grooming table that I could set up in the basement and hopefully also be able to take to shows if that works out for me! :p Thanks everyone for the feedback! |
dryers Yep, I take everthing but the kitchen sink to shows it seems!!!LOL I bath and dry at home the morning before the show and take the rest. What comes in really handy is a ring-side table. You set it up under the canopy. That way you dont have to brush the dog on the ground. I do use the grooming table by the ring-side(where people sit to watch) to get the part straight and the top-knot in. As usual, Ryans Pet Suply carries ALL your grooming needs. (no, I dont work thereLOL) Lynn |
We recently purchased a grooming table. It is rectangle and a "floor" standing type. It has the "double-fold" legs so it folds flat.I really like the textured top to prevent slipping. The arm that holds the collar-loop is adjustable which makes it easy to "personalize" for the dog that is being groomed. (Our Shelby is a little shorter than Seymour) We even use ours for daily comb-outs!!! Much easier than trying to manuver them on the counter or on a lap. ..... the only thing is, you have to have a place to store it unless you have room to leave it set up. Hope this helps! |

I bought it from a vendor at a dog show that I went to over the Labor Day weekend. I was able to ask lots of questions, fold it up, and also comparison shop. You may want to see if there are any dog shows in yor area. Many of them have plenty of vendors.......... and NO shipping!!! I paid 102.00 and that included the loop & adjustable arm. |
