| Wanting info for a pet store in NY I am wanting to know if any one knows of a pet store in Williamsville,NY? It is called Honey Hill pet center. I have heard about it and wanted info from people in the area that know of it. I have a friend who looked at puppies in it. Are they an up and up store? |

| Personally, I would never recommend buying a puppy from any pet store. I have learned since I've been on YT that 99% of pups in pet stores are from puppy mills. I didn't know that before I joined YT, so I've been in your friend's shoes. She doesn't want to look at ads on the internet or the newspaper either. Her best bet is to go with recommendations by other yorkie owners or check the YTCA website for a list of breeders. I can't guarantee all of those, but it's a step in the right direction. We also have some wonderful breeders here on YT with puppies right now. You might want to ask around. Thanks for asking!

| Hi, and welcome. I'm from Buffalo, NY and I've been to that store. I did some research and this is what I've found so far, On the Erie County SPCA website, they say that you can adopt SPCA animals at off site locations, this is one of them. They also have cats from Second Chance Sheltering Network once in awhile. While I agree with Judy in Waco, if they are helping the SPCA, then that might be a different situation all together. She could ask the store to see the information they have on the puppies, that would list where they got it from, and you could check that further. Most pet stores in WNY don't sell dogs anymore, most of them have closed down. There are a few, but not as many as there used to be.

all .. 99% of petstores with puppies for sale get the puppies from puppy millers. do not support.. if you want a puppy mill dog, just find an amish auction, they sell sick dogs there.. pretty cheap i hear.. you can get the same poor puppy for more money at the pet store so the store can continue to buy more sick puppies and keep the puppy mills in business torturing their dogs which are treated no better than chickens

YT Addict Join Date: Jan 2008 Location: Florida Posts: 366 Blog Entries: 8 Am I Famous Now? -------------------------------------------------------------------------------- This relates to irresponsible pet owners and how the puppies end up in Puppy Mills sometimes. I was looking for a poem to add to my Reason Why You Should Spay or Neuter your pet paper for my Writing Comp Class and found this poem. Am I Famous Now? I was born today. One of 10. My daddy was very famous. I have lots of half brothers and sisters. My mother is very famous. Since she got famous, she has only had puppies. No more loving hands, no more fun trips. Just puppies. She is always sad when they leave her. I left home today. I didn't want to go, so I hid behind my mama and my three littermates that were left. I didn't like You. But one day, they said, I would be famous. I wonder, is famous the same as fun and good times? So You picked me up and carried me away, even though you were concerned about me hiding from You. I don't think You liked me. My new home is far away. I am scared and afraid. My heart says: BE BRAVE. My ancestors were. Did they go to good homes like mine? I'm hungry because I can't eat too much, because it will be bad for my bones. I can't bite or snap when the children are mean to me. I just run and play and pretend that I'm in a big green field with butterflies and robins and frogs. I can't understand why they kick me. I am quiet, but the man hits and says loud things. The lady dosen't feed me goog things like I had with my mother. She just throws dry food on the ground, then goes away before I can get too close for touching and petting. Sometimes my food smells bad, but I eat it anyway. Today I had 10 puppies. They are so wonderfull and warm. Am I famous now? I wish I could play with them, but they are so tiny. I am so young and playful that it's hard to lay here in this hole under the the house nursing my puppies. They are crying now. I am so hungry I scratch and worry my fur. I wish somebody would throw me some food. I am also very thirsty. Two got cold during the night and I couldn't make them warm again. They are gone. We all are very weak. Maybe if I take them out on the porch, we can get some food. Today they took us away. It was too much trouble to feed us, and someone came to take us away. Someone grabbed my puppies, they were crying and whimpering. We were put an a truck with boxes in it. Are my babies famous now? I hope so, because I miss them. They are gone. The place smelled of urine, fear and sickness. Why was I here? I was beatiful, like my ancestors. Now I am hungry, dirty, in pain and unwanted. No one came though I tried to be good. Today someone came. They put a rope on my neck, and led me to a room that was very clean and had a shiny table. They put me on the table. Someone held me and hugged me. It felt so good! Then I felt tired and laid over the last one who cared. I am famous now. Today someone cared! by Cynethia __________________ Joymami toMr.Poppy posted previously we need to petition for new USDA laws

| I am in tears reading this. This is so sad and unfortunately hits the nail on the head. I wish that all the poor babies could be rescued and no animal should have to endure that type of life. It makes me so sad to think that animals are treated like that, those "owners" should have to experience the conditions that they put their animals in. Hot Rod is from a pet store, before we knew any better, and I think about how he started out and his poor momma and siblings alot. It breaks my heart but at least I know that while I can do so, he will have the best life that he can possibly have.

| I will not watch your video. I am tired of all the propaganda videos out there. I believe that there are good and bad in all things. They are showing the pictures of substandard kennels that need put out of business. I believe that there are some good breeders out there and they need to be reconized as well. Only the worse are being shown to the public, so that money can be made off of these poor dogs. Why dont the take pictures of kennels that are doing the breeding and raising right? |

If a Breeder is Doing the right thing they would not be brokering out to pet stores. I have yet to see a Reputable Breeder that sells there pups to a Store or Broker. If a breeder is mass producing pups that are way out of standard they are a Bad Breeder. Or Greeder as we call them. | |
