| Car Travel I was wondering what you all do about traveling with your pup in the car? (even short distances) I would like to hold him on my lap, but it's dangerous in the sense that he is distracting to me and he also could be killed by the airbag if we were to ever get in an accident. I've looked at numerous options and I just don't know what to go with!

| I just got my little girl and she has already been on several car rides. She does best when I put her in her kennel in the passsenger seat, with the front facing me, so that she can see me. She cries if I face her towards the front of the car. Oh, and I buckle her kennel in with the seatbelt so it doesnt move around.

| We just went to Arkansas with 2 dogs and came back with 3. I used a small kennel for Baron because he jumps around too much. I did let him sit on my lap on pilliows in Tenn. for a bit. He fell asleep. I have 2 car seats so Sophie Kennedy and Sammy had those to sit/or lay down on. They're much calmer in the car than Baron. I seat belt both car seats and the small kennel for added safety. The dogs in the Car Seats wear padded harnesses too.

| I have a carrier bag that my tiny rides in but now Chloe doesn't want to ride in a carrier, she thinks she is grown now. She will sit on her blanket in the front seat. I hook her leash to the seat belt and Willow, in carrier, sits beside her. They both have to be next to me and be able to see me. When I am not driving they are on my lap. |

| Anyone know of a specific carrier you recommend for your dog for car travel?

| we use a plastic cat kennel and secure it in place with the seatbelt through the handle. works really well until one of the kids decides he is "lonely" and "has" to come out of his kennel. |

| Jackson sits/lays in the backseat, with a harness that attaches into the seatbelt. It actually buckles in the belt. He does absolutely great/fine in the car.

| George comes to work with me every day and he comes on deliveries etc, he has his own Outward hound car seat and his harness just hooks on, he has enough room to look out the window or have a sleep, he loves it.

| I HAVE to find something for Jemma. Nothing has worked. She will do anything to get out of the back seat, a crate, carrier, anything. As dangerous as it is, she sits on my lap. She doesn't move. She just looks out the window and if she even see's a cat, she won't move or go nuts. She doesn't distract me or anything. I just have to do/find something that will work for her for her own safety. I already tried treats, toys, even letting her howl for a week. Thought I'd go deaf. I finally stopped because I thought she was going to have a heart attack. So for now, she just sits on my lap and does nothing. Anyone who see's her at lights all smile and wave and think it's cute. It's really not. It's not safe for her. Can't figure it out. Carol and Jemma. |

| Bella has both a console and a backseat Snoozer Lookout car seat. She LOVES them!!!! She gets so excited about riding in the car now. This is her in her console Snoozer. I bought them at petco.com and got free shipping and I though a good price. I use the console one for short little trips and the backseat one for longer trips in the car. |

| I don't know if you can see this pic or even tell what it is but we live on a bus and travel the country. Curly Mac HAS to either be on my lap, which is difficult for me with the giant steering wheel or in her carrier which is one of those "front packs" you wear. Only hers is hanging on my microphone next to the dashboard so she can look out the window or have a little snooze...as you can see here lol DSCN3082.jpg. The blue part is the pack, the peace blanket is for her to lay her head on and you can almost see her little nose right inside the steering wheel. Donating YT 500 Club Member | Roxy loves hers, & so do we. I think you'll like it. I wish it set a little higher in my minivan now that she's a little older & more curious about what's out there in the world. I may get a piece of foam to attach to the bottom & see if that works out for her. I don't have a lot of width between the bucket seats, so will just have to try it and see.
