Please keep my daughter in your prayers. My 25 year old daughter has a form of rheumatoid arthritis and has been having a terrible flare up. She can barely walk and can not drive as her knees are so swollen. She is on the maximum dose of her current medicine and it hasn't done a thing. We are taking her tomorrow to my husband's internest for a complete check up and seeing if he can refer us to a different rheumatologist. I would appreciate any prayers and positive thoughts for her. It breaks my heart to see her so disabled and in pain. Thanks |
Lots of positive thoughts and prayers being sent to your daughter... |
I will keep your daughter in my thoughts! I'm so sorry she is in pain. |
Praying for your daughter. |
Sending good thoughts and prayers to you and your daughter. My friend has RA and has had success with Enbrel. She does have flare ups when she is under stress. An in law also had RA so bad that she was in a wheelchair but she is taking methotrexate (I don't know if that's spelled right) and she is doing very well now and back to work. I hope the doctors can find a medication that will help your daughter. |
Praying for your daughter. Sending prayers for comfort and relief. |
Sending good thoughts for your daughter Patti. I will keep her in my prayers. I am so sorry she is going through this. It must be so tough on you. We as moms would take everything upon us rather than them in a second if we could. Stay strong. She is lucky to have such a supportive and loving mom. I sure that is a big help. |
Keeping your dear daughter in my thoughts and prayers, as always. |
I am so sorry your daughter is in so much pain, prayers for both of you |
Patti praying for your daughter and your family. |
I'm sorry to hear this. May she be surrounded by Angels that carry her when she's in pain. |
Praying for your daughter and also you Patti. Hi Patti, Your continually in my thoughts and prayers. I am so sorry those meds weren't helping your daughter. I continue to pray for her and for the Dr.s to find something that will help her. I know so well the heart ache you are feeling, it is not at all easy. Thank God for the strength that only HE can provide in these times. I pray for the Lord to lift you up and give you the strength you need too. Sending big hug to you from us both, Patti and Jack |
Patti, I am so very sorry your daughter is in such a bad way. Sending out prayers for her. I was going to ask if she'd tried methotrexate (sp?). I was told that it was a good long term med for RA. Also have she tried Relafin? I am not sure of the spellng of this either but I know that when I took it for a flare up arthitis it was like a miracle. My problem was it upset my stomach too badly. Worth asking the doctors about. Best of luck. Bo |
Thanks everyone. Jessica is on Methotrexate and Mobic. They started her on 2 pills once a week and she is up to 8 pills once a week which is the maximum. Her doctor said she would be adding an injectable if the 8 didn't help. She has had no improvement at all she is actually getting worse. I have heard that Embrel is really good an hope this or one of the other injectables will help her. She moved out 2 months ago to an apt and she is on the second floor and couldn't get up the stairs tonight or drive so we brought her home. I had to wash her hair for her also. I feel so bad she should be out having fun on a Friday night. Also, her employer will not give her time off so we have to try and squeeze in her monthly visits on her lunch hour and we are always in a rush for herto get back. Her boss saw her barely able to walk to day and said to her walking kind of gimpy today aren't you. I thought that was so mean. She needs her job and insurance so she is afraid to ask for time off. It is a small office and she has no sick days and gets i week of vacation next month after being their 14 months. Sorry I am rambling but I am so stressed. Thanks again for the prayers. Bo I will ask the doctor about the Relafin. Thanks |
Patti, I'm so sorry your daughter is going through this terrible time. I can't believe the way some busniess treat their help. I thought the slave shops were a thing of the past. I guess they probably don't have "any" Christmas spirit either. I will keep her and all of you in my thoughts and prayers. God Bless her and you. |
Patti, I'm sending prayers for your daughter. It's so sad when someone that young has those kind of problems. I hope she can find something that will help her. |
Hi Patti....I feel so bad for you and your daughter. I am praying you find a good doctor who will take an interest in helping her. There's got to be something that can be done for her. I know it hurts you as much as it does her. Hugs to you both! Prayers too! |
Just to say i am thinking of you & your daughter |

Hi Patti. Sending prayers for your daughter and you. It is so hard to see our loved ones suffer. Keep us upated |
Thanks all for the prayers and good thoughts. We took her to my husband's internest 2 weeks ago and he said loose weight. He said that about 3 times and my dtr was almost in tears. She can't exercise yet as her RA doctor wants to wait til her inflammation is down. But at least he took out 80 cc's of fluid off her right knee. One week earlier her RA doctor took out 60 cc's from the same knee. Both gave her cortisone injections. She did much better for about a week. The day after Christmas her left knee blew up and she could barely walk again. Her RA doc is on vacation so we begged another doctor in the group to see her on her lunch hour yesterday. We really liked this doctor and will be switching as Jessica's doctor is only there 2 days a week. She was so kind to Jessica and very understanding. She tool out 85 cc's of fluid off her left knee and gave her cortisone. For some reason her knee is still swollen, though better than it was. My dtr is taking the 12th off and we are going to this other doctor and she will be starting on an injectable RA drug, either Humera or Embrel depending on her insurance company's approval. Then if she didn't have enough problems her employer switched her insurance effective 1/1/11 and since she had to disclose the RA on the application no one wanted to take her. They put her on some plan and her boss gave her the information and on there was written effective 1/1/11 77.00 will becoming out of each paycheck for your insurance. She is barely getting by now and with this extra expense not to mention the medical expenses she will need a lot of help from us. She has been there pver a year with no raise and no vacation, but with the job market what it is she has to be thankful she has this job. Please keep her in your prayers as she starts on these new drugs. The side effects are scary. Thanks. |
My heart goes out to her. Please tell her to hang in there, she is in my prayers. |
