| In need of a vet. in West Phoenix I am in need of a good vet in the west Phoenix area that has experience with yorkies. I posted a thread before but the vets that were recommended are too far from my house. I also tried searching but nothing came up. So if you have someone in mind let me know. Also, it seems just about every vet clinic is a 'hospital'; would they charge extra for basic things like vaccinations, annual exams, etc.? Just curious the advantange/disadvantage of these vet offices. In California, at least where I came from, most vet offices didn't have 'hospital' in their name. |

Furbutts = LOVE Donating Member Moderator | I don't know of a vet in that area. However, the term "hospital" is usually quite meaningless in terms of differences btwn practices.

| AZ Vet on the West side Quote:
Another Glendale YTer told me about Dr. John Montana in Peoria. Big on him and his staff! Took both of my babies there and I got exactly what I wanted; acceptance of me feeding raw, no pushing of unwanted vaccines or tests, a caring, knowledgable Vet and staff! My Yorkies were calm and happy when we left! As far as the term "hospital" here in AZ; could mean one doc or a few of them. The ASPCA has a good reputation here and they're cheap for spay/neuter (not suggesting you're looking for cheap by all means! ) and shots at least. I found that the vets here (lived here since 1999 and went through 10 or 12) are all about the same in $$$. One might charge less for the office visit fee, but makes up for it with meds prices, others make their bucks by upselling "important" tests, prescription food and a host of shampoos, sprays and other useless and over hyped up products that they sell out of their office. Hope this helps a bit! Good luck! | |
