I would say with it being so far out.... just set the date. People can schedule it in.

I agree with Angi, just set the date for Feb. 7, and that gives people plenty of time to make plans to come.

That sounds good! Ok, so the date is Sat., Feb. 7th!!! Yay!

Also, just to let everyone know, I'm already working on finding companies that make HEALTHY dog treats that might like to send enough samples for all those attending. I have already found a really great one that has said yes!! They just want a date and an estimate of how many attendees there will be, which I can give them later on. I'm sooo excited about that!!! I don't want to spoil the fun of the surprise, so I won't tell everyone all the specifics, but I wanted you to know that we're already on our way!!

And I'm anxiously awaiting hearing from Angi after she checks with owners on a venue option tomorrow!!

P.S. Is everyone having the same horrible stormy weather we are here? My power went out a little while ago, but it's back on now

Another idea has been submitted, and I think it is a VERY practical one!!! (Thanks Bay-Bay!!!)

When I actually post the official invitation with all the specifics, etc..., I will include with it a side note that "In case of inclement weather, there will absolutely be a make-up date (which will be contingent upon re-scheduling with the venue.....TBA)."

Bay-Bay had a good point that you can never count on weather in OK, AND early Feb. is still prime time for the possiblity of ice! Because there is that possibility, I will probably also ask in the "official" invitation for all those planning to attend to PM me with either their email address or phone number so that I have a way to contact them more directly if the weather ends up being bad.

It looks like we have a "Where" for our meet-up!! Thank you sooo much Angi (Rusty's Momma) for checking on it, etc...!!!

The "Where" will be Paws n Claws in Moore, which is actually a grooming salon, and they have "Adoption Days" where rescue pups can find nice homes (which OKYR has been a part of). Sooooo, we can have our babies bathed/groomed while we're socializing if we want too!! (There is ABSOLUTELY no obligation, but it's a nice opportunity to have it done while you wait!!)

Just wanted to check back in and let everyone know the progress.....

^^^ I'm soooo happy so many people are interested in coming!!! This will be so much fun....hard to wait until Feb.!!

I had to drive to Norman today to take care of car business (and I'll have to go back to pick it up from the dealer when they're finished in 7-10ish days too), so I stopped by Paws and Claws in Moore on the way back to check out the place AND to see first-hand the adoption events they have! It was sooo nice to get to meet a couple of OKYR'ers and YT'ers too!! The place looks just right, and everyone is sooo nice

(not to mention all the super-cute pups I got to love on while I was there too

)

There have been several people volunteering to help in whatever way, and I will gladly take you up on that!! This is OUR event, so anyone who wants to be involved can be! I will let those of you who have "volunteered"

know what I could use help with when things start progressing....there isn't really much to do right now but wait! (For example, we could have a little mini "bagging party" when it's time to actually put goody bags together!)

I can't wait!!

Thank you!! You're so sweet--it was very nice to meet you too! And I certainly couldn't be putting this event (out of town for me) together without all the help I'm getting!! I really wanted to do something where Yorkie Moms (and Dads!) could get together, but especially where Bella would get to meet and play with pups her own size for a change (which I'm sure is problematic for others too--finding pups of equal size to play with their babies!) You have no idea how nice it is to not have to do it all myself!! I'm so appreciative!

With the holidays over, and since our meet-up is only 5 wks away now, I wanted to get a better idea of how many will be attending......some vendors, etc... are wanting to have an idea of how many goody bags we will be putting together, so I need to find out a close number so we can get goody bags finalized.

If you and your furkids will be attending please PM me with how many people and how many furkids will be in your "party". I have numbers for Bay-Bay, Pepelapeu, and jaymes (jaymes it's just you and Diamond right?), but if the three of you have any changes please let me know. Several others have expressed an interest in being there as well, but I need to get good numbers (since I want to have 1 goody bag per furkid in attendance). Also, any extra goody bags will go to OKYR.

Just let me know!! I'm very excited to see you all there!!!
