Yorkie Talker | Do your Yorkie babies get along well with other dogs? I was wondering if people could share their experiences with their yorkies and other dogs. I have two males and neither of them seem to get along very well with other dogs. They tend to growl and bark ALOT when other dogs are near, as if to team up. They are fine with other yorkies and that's about it. AJ Louis |

| Sammy does not get along with other dogs very well. My friend has a Bichon and I brought Sammy to play with him and Sammy picked up his front paw and smacked the dog in the face!!!!!!!!!! When we are at the vets, Sammy growls at the other dogs. He's a big rough tough cream puff, all 5 pounds of him!! |

| Mine get along well with other small dogs- they don't do good with large dogs, especially ones who want to jump up on them. I take them to dog parks where there is a separate section for small dogs and they do well with that. |

| My puppy is only 9 weeks old, but he thinks he's as big and bad as every dog he meets. He's not nervous or scared of anything, but he will play with any dog that will play with him... Maybe it's because he's a puppy, but I hope he doesn't outgrow it. |

| Raley is very passive. He is unsure of large dogs so we avoid them. Most all of my friends have small breed dogs so it really isn't a problem.

| Jamie gets along with almost all dogs, big and little. It is really cute-in the morning there is a group of dogs who play with each other at the local park. They are mostly big dogs but there are a couple small dogs. When one of their friends comes, they all come over to that dog to say hello and then go back to play. Jamie is the only one that also goes over to the owner and gives her/him a kiss. After they play, they go on a mile walk around the park. It is so funny to see this whole pack of about 8 dogs of all sizes from a 150+ pound bull mastiff to 9 pound Jamie. This is my husband's daily exercise too! If a new dog comes and gets a little aggresive with Jamie, one of the big ones comes over to protect her-so cute. Also we have had many people in the park who are not part of the morning crew tell us that Jamie is the only dog that their dogs get along with. I think that socializing her early with other dogs in petco training really helped Jamie. My previous yorkie loved people and children but did not like other dogs. |

| Shadow lives with two big dogs, so they don't worry her. Which can be a problem in itself cause not all big dogs know how to play with small dogs. We have to stop them when she gets a little crazy running around with one of the dogs chasing her. She teases by hiding under the ottoman and peeking out in different spots. She has learned to keep back when they are excited. But they are really careful not to step on her. |

| Riley is very submissive.... He gets all excited wanting to play with any dog, and when it comes up to him, he immediately rolls over onto his back..... He is just 8-months old...so not sure if and/or when that will change. |

| My current Yorkies get along with every dog and every human. My previous Yorkie hated all other dogs, and would challenge every dog that she saw. Once we were at a small secluded park, and she challenged and lunged at a pitt bull. The pitt was with a little boy, and of course took it as a threat and responded in kind. It was a good thing that BOTH of them were leashed, because Loosie would have been the loser and I feel I would have been responsible since my dog started it.

| I have one large dog and three beagles outside. Rosie hates the beagles. She will bark and growl and get in their faces. Thank goodness they are good natured. However, the large dog she loves. She will go up to him and get nose to nose and think nothing about it. Thank goodness he is good natured too. When my friend brought her Yorkie to my house (a male) she didn't take to him to well either. That is why we haven't got another Yorkie at this time. We don't think she will do well.

| Getting along I have a 2 1/2 year old and an 8 month old and they love all animals. They spent Christmas Eve with my friends King Charles and a Pomeranian brought by a friend and everyone got along fine. The trick is to get them from a breeder who has socialized her dogs. |

| My Roady is 6 yrs old, and ignores all other dogs while he is in thier presence. Behind a window of a vehical he'll bark at them, like he's letting me know they are there. My Jodie is 3 yrs old. She'll try and boss all other dogs she gets near, like they have to submit to her or else. This scares the crap out of me, so I keep her away from others, except the 2 boys I got. Her husband Roady, and her son Romeo. Now romeo is like a cha wa wa . Thats what he acts like. He's bad to the bone , long as the car windows up. He's not a chawawa, but he must of been one in his other life ,cause he reminds us of one, big time! They get walked all over the usa. Me and my husband are truck drivers, and they travel. they meet lots of dogs, and bark, ang growl at them all. They like thier leashes, because they can act like billy bad butts, and get protected all at the same time. I keep them away from other dogs as best as I can. Mine start the barking first. so, I have to take precautions. Some people won't put thier dogs on leashes, even when the sign says to. So I get these huge dogs running after my smartalec dogs, who I can't get to shut up for nothing. I swoop them up and head back to the big truck, and try again later!!!! |

| Yorkies are big dogs in small bodies. They can also be very bossy and start fights with bigger dogs because they think they also are big dogs too Every doggie is different, so I think it is impossible to say all Yorkies get along with other animals.
