That sounds great, it keeps discussion in the loop, makes info more stream lined, invites responses and allows readers to know where you are coming from and going to. Great Idea.

Instead of you trying to keep track of everyone just have everyone make their own reservation. Just keep posting the information a few times daily. You know you have a few people already going so they can keep adding as many rooms as they want. Just mention it is the yorkie meeting so they get the group rate.

My vote is Sat/Sun, but I'm game with whatever ...it will be a great time no matter what day(s)

That is exactly what will happen. I have no desire to make everyone's travel plans for them ;)

The issue is this board isn't very highly trafficked. But mentioning (and linking) in General forum will help to solve that problem.

We cannot guarantee a hotel rate until our minimum number of rooms has been met. BUT......the price difference isn't all that large. Especially if there are members ( possibly who know each other or communicate regularly....) who are interested in "shacking up" together :sidesplt:

I agree with Saturday and Sunday.

I thought the option could remain open to show up Friday night for dinner on St Armand's Circle

I'm planning on just doing Sat and part of Sunday. I'll have a 3 hour drive home. Which day will be the beach day? Sat or Sun?

Saturday beach day would work for me

3 hours to orlando? Probably more like 2 I would guess. It takes me 3 and a bit to get to Melbourne/Palm Bay.

I was thinking that Saturday would be the "big day".

Even better! I was going by what it said the travel time was on the hotel website.

I also invited "FL Tink". She's no longer a member here but I'll keep her posted on the details. Her info is on page 1 of this thread.

If the La Quinta looks okay I/we/someone can reserve the block of rooms so people can call La Quinta directly and give them a promo code or whatever to get the group rate.

If not we can keep looking for a different hotel location. Keeping in mind financial limitations and possible pet fees.

Everyone will book their own rooms. I just need to know if we can meet the 10 room minimum for the group rate. If not, we can still book but the rate will be slightly higher.
