My name is Jackie. I have 2 yorkies both 1yr old. Would love to come to a meetup with other Yorkie Mommies. We are in Kissimmee. My husband works a lot and I work full time during the week. Traveling 1 1/2 hours one way would be probably the most I could do. |
I am willing to meet in a different location. Here is how I see a perfect Florida meet up: On the coast so the dogs (and us!) can go to the beach and play in the water where it's COOLER (This is important for health and safety in Florida summer) Lots of dog friendly and Yorkie Mom/Dad TESTED things to see and do ( I don't want to get somewhere and be told no dogs or have it not be a safe place for the dogs) Planned by a Yorkie Mom/Dad who lives and plays in the area so we are not all flying blind. I'm willing to plan. But I am limited on areas I have first hand reliable knowledge of. That is why I chose an area that I (and at least 4 other YT members) are familiar with. I'm open to suggestions :p:D:) |
Hi Everyone! We are located in North Pasco at the Hernando line as well. What about Ft. Desoto Park? I realize they are implementing a paid parking situation soon but the beach and park there are very nice! They have large and small pup enclosures. I have not been there since Gizzy was about 7 - so about 7 years ago but it seems to be one of the nicer parks and it is just over the SkyWay for those in Sarasota area and about 1 1/2 hours for those of us in the North. Just let us know - but the month of June through July 5th will be kind of difficult for us - work is very heavy right now - rehearsal schedules, hubby is doing 5 nights a week for the next two, a show on the 16th(full production) and flying to NC for 3 shows on the weekend of the 4th. Maybe you guys can meet up before then and we could do another after all the craziness is over? :rolleyes: |
I am willing to plan ... I really would like to do a meet up. The trouble is Fla is a LONG state.. so it will be hard. If it is in the summer I am more flexible... school year not so much. I live in Miami, almost to the keys so I am one the most southern members. Sarasota is fine with me -- that is 3 to 4 hours drive. I can stay with Lisa :D:D (if she lets me). If we go on the east coast we could look into sharing hotel rooms for a nite? Camping? If you guys come south I can have a couple guest (at this time I have two guest rooms and a sofa) I can host a cook out... we have dog parks and Key largo is a day trip. We are looking into moving to a smaller house (empty nest and all) but don't have a time that will happen yet. I totally agree with sugarmamma on the planning.. safety first and activities must be planned or it will be a flop. well.. thats my thoughts |

I Agree !! I'm all for a meet up anywhere in Fl , I don't mind driving a few hrs, but I agree with Suguar mamma and Lil Sis, we really need to know where we are going with no surprise. So hotel sounds good to me. I'll b in NY fr June 3rd until July 1st, If u meet up after that I can made it and drive. If u meet before that time , I can't made it , but u can let us know the ones that can't make it this time around, how it went and maybe we can join u next time around or have one more later on this year. I will bring myself and 2 more yorkie mommie, that's 3 mom's and 4 yorkie. Key West area and Sarasota are both nice. We need to pick a place , one or two yt member have been before. And not long ago, we need a place we will be sure it will work for us. So since I'm new in Florida , I can't pick or tell u of a good place to meet up. I Know Disney is nice for us , but I don't think our little babies will enjoy it, so Mickey Mouse is out LOL !!!!! Let me know if I can help with anything. barn@ulater !!!!! manina,miley and max's |

Tripadvisor.com is a great website for hotel reviews. You can see pictures that actual hotel guests post...not the enhanced one or when the rooms were new 10 years ago! LOL... |
