| Dudley is so sick and two vets don't know why. He first stopped eating 2 weeks ago. At first I didn't get too concerned, but after a whole day went by I realized something was wrong. He drank alright but just didn't want anything to eat. I took him to the vet where they ran all sorts of blood tests and took x-rays. They all came back normal. He told me to go home and watch him. Then he started to vomit after about 5 days. I took him back to the vet and he took more blood to test him for pancreatitis. The next day he called. The test came back normal. Then he got diareah for 24 hours. I took him to another vet. He ran tests for addison's disease and sent us home. Dudley doesn't have addisons. He vomited once more-a dark brown ugly looking mess that looked like diarreah but didn't smell. He put him on pepcid ac and a anti-nausea medicine. No more vomiting or diarreah, but now we are back to no interest in food. He has lost almost a pound and at only 4 pounds to start with I am really worried. Has anyone else had this happen to your baby? He is 3 years old. I have been force feeding him pedialyte and Recover dog food by syringe. Thanks for any help you can give me.

Donating YT 500 Club Member | Oh, that poor boy! Does he have an ear infection? That's one of only a few things that makes my tank of a boy have tummy troubles and lose interest in eating. And the suggestion for boiled chicken, rice, baby food, all good ideas!! Hope you find out what is going on and that the baby is better soon. |

Yorkie Kisses are the Best! Donating Member | Poor little guy - I was going to say check with your vet about some boiled chicken and rice too - the main thing is to get him to eat at this point and whatever he likes - ask your vet if it's ok 1st... then try it. |

| I am so sorry Dudley isn't feeling well. I don't have an answer for you but would also recommended chicken and rice.

| The only thing I can think of is a parasite. Buddy had been sick for almost 4months. Vomiting, diahrea and lost 3lbs! The vet kept telling me it was the food. I had bought so many different dog foods in that time I finally got fed up and switched vets. The new vet said let's start from the bottom and work our way up doing the cheapest first. He said there are times a male parasite can find it's way into the intestines and cause illness. There are no eggs to be passed in the stools because it's male so stools are always clean. He wormed him. I swear to you in less than 48hrs Buddy was fine. Really, he did the perfect poop for the first time in almost 4months. I did a jig in the middle of the street the first time I saw a perfect one. No more vomiting, diahrea and he ate his regular kibble with no after effects. I hope that's all it is. Have him wormed by the vet. I hope it works. |

| you really just need to get him to eat. When my little one was very sick and didn't want to eat i used chicken baby food and he loved it, so it is worth a try. And i also agress about the parasites they can be very hard to detect, but many of them do cause the symptoms you have told us about. I will pray for your little one. also make sure you are giving him nutri cal or karo syrup to prevent the hypglycemia. |

| Well, he has started to eat a little bit. He liked chicken but not the rice. he ate a tiny piece of hamburger yesterday and a little more chicken today. Things are looking up a bit as far as eating. Now I realized he hasn't gone poop for 2 days. His last one was the day before yesterday and about as big as a lima bean. Also was very dark and shiny. NOT normal!! Boy, if it isn't one thing it is another. I read on here somewhere about giving them pumpkin, didn't I? How much for a 3.8 pound dog? Thank you for your replies! Do you think I should take him back to the Doctor?

| I'm not sure about the pumpkin.. maybe do a search and see if someone mentions it in past threads. Glad he's eating a little. Do you hear sounds in his belly. That will tell you if there could be some sort of blockage in his tummy. When Otie's belly gets irritated he gurgles a lot. Hope you get some answers.
