Can anyone help? Hello everyone For the past few days now I have noticed that Rocky has been licking his paws constantly. At first I didn't think much of it, but when he wouldn't stop i got a bit worried. That s when I started inspecting him. I have found various scabs on all of his paws and even one on his back. I havent been able to see a vet yet because it is closed right now, so I would like to know what it could possibly be. He lives mostly inside the house and goes out in the backyard for his business and a bit of a runaround, could it be mosquitos? Any ideas? I feel really bad for him and Im afraid it might be something serious! :animal-pa |
Maybe Alergies or some kind of parasite I would get him into the vet as soon as you can and let the ve evaluate it. |
In the meantime do you have anything that would help the itching? |
I really dont know what i can give him to stop the itch. Ths is my first puppy so im a little new at this. |
Anything like you might put on your skin. Or you can call the emergency vet and see how much children's benedryl you can give. Maybe you could ask them for other suggestions, too. |
It could be a myriad of things. Does his food have corn in it? A lot of Yorkies are allergic to corn. He could also have an infection. Cover his paws with baby socks (thanks Janell for that idea :p ) and bring him to the vet. They might run tests and/or give him antibiotics. Good luck! |
