My baby is in the hospital :( He is playing, eating, drinking, etc. not acting sick at all. When I came home to let him out to potty on my lunch break today, he had thrown up a yellow/orange color on his blanket. I took him outside to potty, and he threw up again. I rushed him to the vet, and she did some blood tests. One of his kidney levels was off, and his liver level was slightly elevated. He also has sugar in his urine. He has had no changes in his diet/exercise. We have no poison, anti-freze, etc. in or around our house anywhere. Has anyone experienced this? He is only 4 pounds and he is my baby, so I am really scared. Thanks. |
I honestly don't know what this is an indication of -- anyone? Just hoping your baby will be fine. Thoughts and prayers for the both of you.:) |
I'm so sorry your baby is sick! I can't think of what it may be - but I'm hoping you do find a good answer. |
I'm so sorry for your baby. I hope he starts feeling better soon, keep us posted on what the vet finds out. |
thanks for the prayers and well wishes The vet is keeping him overnight so he can get fluids and anti-biotics. He is only 3, so I can't imagine it being diabetes or kidney failure at his age. He was in his crate all morning, so there is nothing he could have gotten into. Has anyone ever heard of pancreatitis? My mom said her dog gets this and throws up sometimes. Thanks again and please say prayers for Monkey. |
Here's to a speedy recovery. Hopefully everything will turn out just fine. |
My little Ceeby had severe pancreatitis when he was a puppy and nearly died. it was touch and go for several days before we knew if he would pull thru. i hope your baby feels better soon. sounds like he has a good vet. |
I hope your baby gets better and it's nothing serious. |
Oh I hope your baby is feeling better very soon and that it's nothing serious. Sending positive thoughts your way. |
Hi, hope your baby is better soon, as for the pancreatis, my karleigh has that, its treated with meds and diet, No table foods at all, my vet said alot of dogs get that from table scaps, well i know sometimes my familly members would sneak her a bite:mad: untill i finally spoke up & said ( not so nice) knock it off , you want me to have a sick baby:( my prayers are with you. |
I hope your baby is feeling better and back home with you soon! |

I'm so sorry to hear your lil guy is sick! Hope he gets better soon! Prayers going out to you and your baby! |
My little Max had pancreatitis once too. It was really scary. But they kept him in the doggie hospital over the weekend (I took him in on a Friday evening) and put him on IV fluids (this helps his pancreas settle down and not be so irritated). He was fine when he got home on Monday, thank God! Now, he's on a prescription dog food and he isn't supposed to overeat and it's been probably over a year and he hasn't had any problems since at all. Other than occasionally, if I leave too much food out he'll eat too much and throw it up. But you can always tell when they don't feel good, and this is nothing like what happened before. The vet will probably put him on IV's and then do more blood tests to make sure that the pancreatic enzymes are down and then let him come home. I'll keep little Monkey in my prayers.....hope he'll be just fine in no time! |
Sending up a prayer for your baby and I hope he feels better real soon. Hang in there and lets uus know how it's going. |
