Vomitting Yorkie Taz has been throwing up alot latly. When he does, it looks like dod food that has been soaked in water. It doesn't look like he is digesting any at all. He has always had a sensitive stomach but the vomitting got worse after he was neutered, which was about one montha ago. He also has luxating patella and he's in alot of pain most of the time. We are in the process of scheduling his surgury for that, but right now I am more worried about the vomitting. Does anyone have any idea what I should do, or what the problem might be?:( |
i have no advise other than to contact the vet. i hope everything is fine |
I would check the date on the food package first then if the date is ok change foods because it's not agreeing with him as long as everything else is ok. Try boiling boneless chicken breasts and white rice. Feed him that for a couple of days until his stomach calms down and gradually add his food to that. Hopefully this will help you. If not I would call the vet. Good luck, |
awww poor guy... sounds like something might be blocking his tummy or intestines. and what does down gets stuck and has to come back up.. i'd get in him to the vet asap.. he isn't getting the nutrients he needs... i hope he feels better really soon!! |
I would really be careful about the food..... now they have found pain killers in them!!! (the news said that one of the symptoms is vomiting.... so you may want to definitely check the food!) |
what brands? I would like to know more info about the food that as found with pain killers in it? I heard something quick on the news about that. I would like more details please. thanks:confused: |

Could you tell me what you mean by blocking his tummy or intestines?? My pup started throwing up last week when we got ADVANTIX put on him. He threw up twice 2 hrs after that, and then once in the mid of the night. But he has thrown up maybe 2-3 times since then. It is usually at night, maybe right after he eats his supper!??!? But there doesn't seem to be a rhyme or reason. And there have been 1 or 2 days that he hasn't thrown up at all. Now he just threw up tonight again!?!?! I am just wondering what marcerella means by what would be blocking his intestines??? Thanks! |
These little ones are very clever at getting things they shouldn't. I lost my Starr to her eating a pencil. She had to have surgery to remove it (so said the vet, I bet he could have just gave her a laxative:( ) and she bled to death afterward:cry: Please take that baby to the vet, until you get some answers. Maybe a second opinion would help. Good luck! |
Inflammatory bowel disease What food is she eating? Have you recently switched foods? If the food is not being digested then it could be small intestines - my dexter has ibd and cannot tolerate potato and a lot of dogs can't so it sits in his tummy and piles up then he vomits - we had to switch his food I would have an xray done to rule out a blockage as blockages can cause vomitting as well |
