| Take to the vet immediately. Check to see if there is anything blocking airway but do not delay ER vet visit now. |

| i am so glad she is okay. I had an eight week old puppy get choked once on dry kibble and i paniced too. being an old R.N., I did the first thing I could think of. picked her up and whacked her gently in the side and it popped across the room. |

| Could she have been honking, like reverse sneezing or something like that? Sometimes when they get excited or are running this happens...If this is the case, cover her nostrils, and encourage her to swallow by rubbing her throat gently. If she's actually choking on like food or something, get her to the vet. Either way, talk to your vet.

| I've seen Annie do that (what you called honking). It's almost like strangling on her saliva. I was told to pick her up and blow softly across her nostrils. It may sound strange but it works every time. Maybe it causes her to swallow and breath thru her mouth as you mentioned. It's very frightening to see her get like that, but five minutes later she's running around having a big time again. |
