Chicken Liver mixed with dry dog food The breeder I purchased my yorkie from fed the litter bolied chicken liver that was smashed. She would put about a tablespoon of this boiled smashed liver mix it up with a few drops of water in their regular dog food. Has anyone heard of doing this and is there any harm in continueing this. My yorkie loves it he will eat the dry food last and eat all of the chicken liver first.

liver A bit of liver once a week is oaky, but even my breeding bitches only got it twice a week..anything added to dry should be minced and wet with a few drops of water, that way they have to eat the dry..sounds like he is eating it all gone..good..

Puppies do need Vitamin A, but the dry food should have the recommended amount in it. Liver is very high in Vitamin A and the extra is not released from the body it is stored in the liver. I would not be comfortable feeding liver every day.
