| Ringworm and anxiousness I had posted on here my first post about my lil baby possibly having ringworm. The vet said it could take up to two weeks to get results back. The black light test did not test him positive. But he does have 3 lesions on him. So the vet thought the results would come back fairly quick. Wednesday will be two weeks and I am nothing but anxious. I am starting to think it isnt ringworm, because my cat, fiance, or me have not gotten anything. *knocks on wood* And i know it is very contagious. We have been playing with Baci before he even got him so it has been well over 14 days since we have been exposed to whatever it is he has on his skin. I just feel so bad for him and want to know already so we can get the right treatment going and get this thing over with. (i have heard it is a PAIN to get rid of)

| I have had lots and lots of cats in my lifetime and many, many dogs, but never had any experience with ringworm with any of them. Hope you get an answer to your sweet baby's problem soon. I used to work for a doctor and I have seen ringworm on people before so you are right, it is very contagious and it would seem that you or the other animals would have it by now. So here is hoping it is something simple that your baby will get over very soon. Barbara

| I bought Lilly Belle when she was 5mos old in January, I noticed she had an area on her shoulder about the size of a dime and a small place on her tail. I forgot to mention it when I took her for her first check up. It wasnt going away so I took her back to the vet in April to have it looked at. She did the black light test and culture, it was ringworm. I was given Tresederm drops to put on it daily. After a couple weeks, it didnt seem much better, so I took her back, I was given another bottle of Tresederm, along with a shampoo called chlorihexiderm, I bathe her in it twice a week and let it soak a full ten minutes, then apply a spray condition afterwards(because it dries their skin), It is much much better, but not gone. I am taking her back this week. The next step will be an oral medication-I think its called griseofluvin. I have another dog, who did not get ringworm, No one in my family got ringworm - and Lilly Belle loves to be held and carried around constantly. One of my sons did get a place of "something" on his lower leg-so we put some cream on it-just in case. |

| My daughter brought home a kitten a few years ago that a friend had given her. We usually keep our cats outside (we live on a farm) but decided to make this one a house cat. I noticed that she had a spot on her leg that didn't have any hair but didn't think any thing about it. I figured that it would grow in soon. Well, I don't remember how long it was, maybe a couple of weeks, my daughter showed me a spot that itched on her arm. I knew immediately that it was ringworm. Before it was over she had spots all over her neck, her face, her arms, her belly, and her legs!!! And all of this was during school. I was afraid that the school would make her stay home until she got over it so we put bandaids ALL over her to cover them up. I told her to tell anyone who asked that she had a skin rash (not lying). It ended up that I, my husband, another daughter, and a couple of grand daughters all got it before we finally got rid of it. I spent a lot of time washing sheets and bedding. I got a shampoo from the vet to wash the cat in and used athlete's foot medicine on our spots to get rid of it. Good luck!!!!
