Blood in his stool, whats up ? My little boy is 8 weeks old and we have had him for about 4 days now... I've taken him to the vet and got him his shots and checked out she said he was healthly .... I told her he had loose, bloodly stools and she felt that he prolly needed a good deworming, well that was four days ago so shouldnt the loose stool and the blood in the stool be gone by now??? I'm trying to get him house broke which is hard to do when he has such bad loose stools and has to go like every 35 mins to 60 mins... I've read all the horrible stories in here and now its got me scared to death... Sounds to me like theres been alot of little ones getting sick... Any ideas anyone??? :aimeeyork |
Hello and Welcome. I would take your little one to another vet. The blood in the stool can be from a lot of different things. I would take him in soon. |
Poor Baby I would take him back to the vet. There could be something else going on. IMO I don't think that the blood in the stool is good. :( |
I think I will call the vet in the morning and see if they would want a stool sample or something and if they still dont do anything else then I will find another vet.. Tidbits still active, playful and and eatting and drinking pletty of water.. But I'm scared that something else is going on, I called the breeder that I bought him from and she's trying to tell me its cause she wormed him... And that my 48hours has ran out if I expect her to take him back or pay any medical bills, I dont think thats the case, I'm starting to think she knows more then shes telling.......... GRRRRR  |
This doesn't sound like worms to me ....the breeder I got my Chanel did the same thing and she had coccidia .....so ....this could something more... If I were you - I would go BACK to the vet as soon as possible - I don't want to scare you but a very young puppy can go down FAST and this needs to be treated. also keep him hydrated till you can see the vet....if he's not drinking try a syringe.... GOOD LUCK ...ps...I sent you a pm.... |
My baby Dezi also had blood in her stool. She was nine weeks when I bought her home last Thursday. The vet gave her dewormer medication. She had it for about 48 hours (just slight specks of blood). The results were negative. The vet thought it may be stress to the new environment. She has not had any blood in her stool since Sunday. She is very active, playing, eating and drinking and even biting a little. She has an appointment on Saturday. I will keep you posted on her. Please keep us posted! |
Tidbit went to the vet :) woohoo, Tidbits had a pravo test and it was neg. the vet gave us some meds for him.
