| Great news! Hope she keeps getting better and better and her liver function stays normal or close to it.

| I would love to give a great good update but that’s not really the case. The veterinarian has given me a different apatite stimulant. Her weight is still dropping. Essentially she is wasting away in front of me and there is nothing that can be done. We are keeping her comfortable. She is still very happy an active so we are just taking it day by day. Thank you for the prayers. Having a hard time dealing with this on top of about a million other things. I broke down yesterday and hopefully I can hang on a little longer before breaking down again.

| As you know, we went through this with our Beau a little while ago. It was SO hard, because he was the happiest little man on earth. Until the end he wagged his tail and kissed everyone he met. He stopped eating, and fell just below 4 pounds (at his highest, he was just below 6 pounds). He let us know that it was time when he did not greet our next door neighbor who had come to see him, and he turned his head away from a kiss. We could have kept him with us a little longer I believe, but he made it very clear to us that he was ready to leave. I am so sorry that you are in this pain! Trust yourself to know when it is kinder to let sweet Callie cross the rainbow bridge, and look for support from your family and your vet. Feel free to PM me if you want to talk/vent... (((hugs)))

| Taylor, I am so sorry to read this, you will know what to do if it comes to that, if your vet has not told you "its time", then it isn't. Keeping both you and Callie in my prayers (((hugs)))

| They are very concerned about the weight loss and there really is nothing that can be done. She has lost 1.4 pounds in 2 weeks. She is down to 13.2 pounds.

| Nothing worse than watching your little one getting worse. Went through this with my little Jilly after she became gravely symptomatic with horrible GI symptoms for about 8 mos. or so of her little life and so many times thought she would have to be euthanized, especially after the vet began using terms like "quality of life", etc. It was one of the worst times of my life. Couldn't stand to see her suffer and lose weight down to under 2 pounds when the most she ever weighed was slightly over 3 lbs. It's all about them and giving them what's best for them in the long run, no matter what it takes, even if it's the most painful of decisions. Thankfully Jilly was still young at the time and I had time to work it all out, find a way she could live a fairly normal, happy life. Hope somehow this can work out and you can find some answers for Callie. Have you gotten 2nd, 3rd opinions from different vets lately?

| so sad and sorry I am so sad for you, as I have recently gone through this with our little Graysee. She did so poorly up until the 1st of the year, then suddenly a reprieve, and she perked up and started eating. But, the signs were there, and she continued to waste away, with her ribs, hips, and backbone becoming more and more pronounced as her muscle mass deteriorated. Her final 12 hours were so traumatic for us, and I still weep for her! Knowing that she is with God, her creator, gives me some peace, along with the knowledge that I'll see her again, someday. My prayers are with you, as this is such a terrible time! |
