48 hours after her ordeal, and Bella seems 100% back to normal. I still give her broth-soaked kibble and her Deramaxx pain medication each morning, but she seems to be no longer in pain and she's quite rambunctious. She pooped twice this morning for the first time since her surgery so I think her system is unblocked. |
Oh just hate it when our babies are in pain or unhappy:D Afteer several cleanings in which Cali kept losing teeth I took her to a doggy dental specialist and it was the best thing I ever did. The exam and cleaning were very thorough and I got to see X-rays if every tooth with whynitnews removed. It was whole expensive but worth every penny. Got lots of advice on how. And what toothpaste to use . That was 2 Years ago and no more lost teeth. Was so worth the time, $$, and effort! Keep,us posted on how Belle is doing! |
It's just amazing how these lil pups bounce back so quickly. Happy to hear Bella is back to her little sweet self. |

So happy to hear that Bella is feeling better! |
I'm sorry to hear that! I do hope that UofI can do the surgery without issue. |
Poor Bella ... I am sorry, Phil. I am just seeing this. These yorkies and their teeth. :( Hope she is doing well. |

I spoke with my vet this morning. She said that June 5 should be okay for Bella to go to the U of Illinois. She didn't think that Bella needed to be seen any sooner. She's already faxed Bella's records over to them. |
Glad to hear she is feeling better. |

Any follow up? Did she get the surgery and how did she make out? Cost? which tooth was it and did it affect her chewing fun very much? My 8 year old girl just had a slab fracture of her upper 4th premolar (tooth #108). We knew within days because she stopped chewing her favorite treat. Vet did a Vital Pulpectomy (?) and I'm hoping it works. She had her dental in August and it was only grade 1, no problems! They just did x-ray and she does not show infection so hoping her procedure works. Meanwhile I think I need to prepare for a possible extraction. I'm scared of the possible complications of extraction, but the one canine dentist my vet contacted said a root canal would be about $3000!!! I can't do that as there may be a knee surgery in her future and we already spent over $5000 on her back surgery at University of Pennsylvania Vet Hospital. I'm hoping to learn from others' experiences. Maggie is on Oral Clindamycin (iquid) and Meloxicam. |
There was another thread on "Bella's dental", that is the update, see below https://www.yorkietalk.com/forums/si...xtraction.html |
