youkie ate an onion My yorkie Romeo ate an onion 3 days ago and is very sick. The vet did bloodwork and says there is no damage to his kidneys. I'm worried that he is still not eating. |
Hmmm.....has he been back to the vet since the initial visit? I'm not really sure of any advice other than return to the vet....Winnie ate a mushroom a while back and landed at the vet under emergency circumstances. She was back to eating the next day and back to herself the following day. |
Well something is obviously wrong. You also need to check for anemia which can happen when eating onion. |
You did not give details but if your pup is having vomiting and/or diarrhea you need to get back to the vet ASAP!!! This could be an emergency .. they can dehydrate quickly and die when losing fluids from vomiting and/or diarrhea. |
I would get your baby back to the vet as soon as possible. Sophie got into a burger wrapper in the summer and we had her at the vet within 45minutes. I'm reading her take home instructions right now and it says, "For the next week monitor Sophie for signs of anemia. Symptoms to watch for are as follows: red urine, lack of energy, pale gums during exercise, general weakness. Only allow a small amount of water tonight and back to regular feedings in the A.M. If no appetite or vomiting/diarrhea by tomorrow afternoon, please bring her back in for re-evaluation." Sophie was fine as she only got into a small slice, but if your dog isn't feeling better by now I would be very concerned about him and get him in for hydration and another evaluation. These little ones get into everything. |

If your baby still seems unreasonably sick, not just fatigued - you DO need to get back to the vet, and fast...you don't want to take chances with her life, do you? |
