Vomiting Hi,I'm new here. I have a beautiful baby boy named Maximus(Max) and he is 9 weeks old. I've had him for about 2 weeks now and have weaned him off his old food that he was eating before I got him and he's now fully on Blue grain free for puppies. We were having some potty issues and I read here that a little canned pumpkin can help so I've added that once a day also. We also do a little frozen thawed peas for another issue which I also learned here. Well tonight I added a little wet dog food in with his pumpkin because I didnt want it to go bad in my refrigerator. He gobbled half of that mix down pretty quickly so much so that I took it away. I gave him more than I usually do but he will usually eat a little at a time so I figured he'd do the same. Well not even 5 minutes later he threw it up. It looked just like the wet food mixture colorwith pumpkin mixed in. He seems fine now,he's napping. Is this common for them to throw up if they eat too fast? |
Yes, it could easily be bc he ate it SO fast like that. Sometimes, it's just too much all at once and some dogs are more sensitive to gobbling than others. If you want to keep feeding wet, maybe spread the found around the edges of the bowl and put a golf ball in the bowl to slow him down a bit. |
Thank you. He's all better today. I won't be making that mistake again. I really just got the wet food to go along his dry food to make sure he was getting enough during his adjusting with a new place and new food. I will continue the pumpkin and peas and I will try that trick! Thanks again! |
Hi and Welcome to YT! You can freeze the pumpkin in ice cube trays. In a pup that young, I'd stick with soaked kibble and a little bit of canned fed 4-5 times a day. I'm afraid the peas may be hard on his digestion at his age. |
