sending prayers your way |
Update on Deuce..........surgery went well, but next 48 hrs are crucial. The mass and colon they removed has been sent for testing. Keep praying there's no cancer. The surgery lasted about 2 hrs. We can see him tomorrow afternoon and the vet will decide then if he can come home or stay another night. We are about 1.5 hrs away, so bringing him home actually makes me nervous. Our regular vet is here in our little town, but is not equipped if Deuce should need immediate care. Fingers crossed and prayers our little guy will be free of any cancer and make a full recovery. Thanks for all the concern and well wishes. I will keep you updated. |
Oh wow they removed the whole colon? Praying for good results! |
Thanks for updating. Wishing your little Deuce a speedy recovery and hope to hear it was not cancer! :) |
praying for deuce..... |
Good news! Sending prayers your way. You can always request that he stay in hospital a few days longer... as long as he seems content there and continues to do well. |

I'm glad that his surgery went well. Praying for positive results on the biopsy. I know you will be so happy when he can come home. |
Keeping Deuce in my prayers. Glad the surgery went well and praying all results are good for him and he is able to be home soon. |
Deuce is doing good, but he still hasn't eaten. Vet said this is not uncommon. Since we are 1.5 hrs away we decided to let him stay another night. Hopefully he'll eat tomorrow and be home with us tomorrow night. |
Sending prayers that he makes a speedy recovery. |

Excellent decision, I think, to leave him another night! He will be able to make the road trip much easier, and he will just be that much more stable, post operatively....I am so happy he did well with his surgery.....praying for a benign path report on specimens submitted. |
Just had a call from the hospital where Deuce is. He's drinking on his own, but he still won't eat. The surgery was about 15 hrs ago. They have tried grilled chicken, tuna, and other different things to try to interest him, but no go so far. Please keep little Deuce in your prayers. |

Definitely praying for him. |
My prayers are with both you and Deuce. I agree with LadyJane about deuce possibly eating for you. Many years ago, I had one of my angels hospitalized with colitis, and she wouldn't eat until she saw me. I hope deuce eats for you tomorrow and that he heals rapidly. |

Praying for your precious Deuce...that he will start eating and recover fully from his surgery. I'm so sorry you and Deuce are going through this. Hugs to you. |
Hubby did try feeding him yesterday. I babysit my preemie grandson so I couldn't go along. We are to call at 9 this morning to see his progress. When hubby goes today I will send chicken baby food. Will post an update after we speak to vet this morning. |

Not good news...he has pockets of fluid in his stomach which may be why he's not eating. They are about to treat him with plasmo (sp) that she said is a blood product. So far the fluid does not show bacteria but there is inflammation. Hubby is on his way now with the chicken baby food that was suggested. Y'all please pray for Deuce. My husband is so attached to this little dog it will kill him for Deuce not to make it through this. I know my update is vague, of course the vet said more that I don't remember or didn't understand. God help us. |
Praying Deuce will be ok! |
Praying for Deuce ... |

I am so sorry your little one is so ill. :( My George was admitted to ICU this past year with pancreatitis and he also had fluids in his tummy. They gave him plasma and it turned him around! I hope the same will happen for your sweet boy. Saying prayers for Deuce.... |
Sending good thoughts your way! |
I'm first reading this now...so sorry Deuce is having a hard time. I hope he will be recovered & home with you soon. Take care, you're in my thoughts. |
