Sending prayers and good thoughts for Hot Rod. |
Just checking in for updates. Hope all went well |
Thank you all for your good thoughts and prayers, they really helped my little guy and me. When I called at 5 p.m., he was sleeping away, which I was told is a good thing. His surgeon called me after the surgery, while Hot Rod was waking up, and told me that Hot Rod also had a cruciate ligament rupture. Xrays were done today so as not to put him under 2x. Once I heard rupture, I couldn't focus on anything except that he was waking up fine. I spoke with the emergency care staff when I called to find out what it was the doctor told me. The staff there are wonderful, she totally explained everything and made sure I understood everything of what the doctor had written down and then told me when Hot Rod had pain meds administered as well as when he was going to get more and how he was starting to become a bit more himself by snuggling up with the blankie I left with him. She said that I could call as often as I wanted to thru the night. Last time I called 3x and finally decided that he was in good hands. I plan on calling again in a little bit. Thank you all so much for coming together for Hot Rod and me. I was such a basket case today. I travel over a bridge to get to the facility and decided to stay over there until he was out of surgery just in case I was needed for any reason. I such a mess that I had to go completely around a whole shopping center 2x to get to the lowes hardware center as I totally missed the entrance the first time and almost missed it the 2nd time. lol Then I took the wrong turn on the exit getting back onto the highway and headed the opposite way from home. It was such a stressful day. I am so glad the surgery part is over, now for the recuperation time--the more challenging time. . They said to call after 9 a.m. to see how he is and they will determine if he able to be released. The doctor seemed to think that he should be able to; I sure hope so, I miss him terribly. Maggie May has been such a good girl thru all of this. She has been snuggling and just so loving. I'm not so sure she's really missing Hot Rod though, she's got the bullies all to herself tonight. lol Thank you all so much again |
I will be thinking about Hot Rod tomorrow. I'm sure it will go great! |
Prayers for Hot Rod .. hope he has an easy recovery. |
I'm so glad you are getting good reports on Hot Rod. I know how you must have been feeling today. I went through the leg surgery with Kacee and I was a basket case, too. The staff at your hospital sound just like the staff at Kacee's hospital. They were just wonderful. |
Just talked with the hospital and they said Hot Rod's vitals are all good which means he's not in pain, no distress. He's had another dose of pain meds. He lifts his head up and looks around and then goes back to sleep. Poor baby must be so confused. I can't wait until he's home again. I think Maggie May is realizing the her brother is not going to be home. She's been a bit unsettled and fidgety. Hopefully she will settle down and go to sleep so mommy can get some zzz's. It's been a very long and stress filled day. I'll update in the morning. |
So happy to hear it all went well. The worst is over, and I pray he will heal perfectly. |
I'm sure he is confused. I always wonder what they are thinking when they are in hospital. Kacee was disoriented, but drugged, when I picked her up to bring her home. |
Looking forward to hearing Hot Rod is home! I'm sure Maggie May will be very glad to see her little brother. I am very happy to hear surgery went well and that the big day is over for both of you. Praying for Hot Rod's speedy recovery. |
Thinking of you and Hotrod |
Hot Rod's Home!! :yay_jump:He's home, he's home!! :yay_jump: Hot Rod is home! Yay! He was restless in his crate so I have been holding for most of the afternoon. He's still not eating or drinking but I'm sure after awhile he will. Hubby is home now so he's got Hot Rod duty. lol Hubby just took him out to potty and has gotten him to eat too. double yay!! I was a bit surprised at the hospital cause this time around, he has staples instead of stitches. He looks like he ready for Halloween--he looks like Frankenstein. They look just awful. I hope he will last 2 weeks with them, that's, hopefully, when he gets them out. Little Miss Maggie May was soooo excited to have her brother home. I came in first and she just knew something was up, she smelled me up one side and down the other. And when hubby brought Hot Rod in, she couldn't stop jumping up and down and trying to sniff him all over. She really does love her brother. lol I don't know why my picture is sideways, but here he is in his crate and his staples. I'm so grateful to have my baby home. :):D |
