Ear Infection In about the first week of December, I noticed that my yorkie Chloe was scratching her ears and wimpering. I knew something was wrong so I took her to the vet. It turned out she had a very bad ear infection  I couldn't understand how it all happened  I clean her ears every week and we make sure we don't get water in them when we give her a bath. About a half hour later the vet had given me medicine to put in her ears and we left. Everything has been good since then but now it's Febuary 19th and it seems that the medicine isn't working anymore. While cleaning her ears last night I noticed that they were pretty red on the inside and she's back to her old ways scratching them and crying. Seeing her in pain tugs at my heart so much :( Time for another vet vist. |
Yes definitely time for a vet visit. When my Barney was young he had a couple of ear infections. I started to use bio-groom ear cleanser and never had a problem with anyone's ears again. Good luck with your baby, hope she feels better soon. |
Frequent ear infections are usually caused by a food allergy. Have you been giving the medications non-stop since Dec.? 10 days to 2 weeks is all that's generally prescribed. I've noticed a lot of dogs are allergic to fish and poultry, along with wheat. |
How old does a puppy have to be to get a ear infection?, how much was the vets visit?, i would really like to take my puppy but my funds are kinda low, but i want him to be healthy,:animal-pa |
With ear infections... you have to go back for a recheck and sometimes more than 1. Some dogs are more prone to them. |
We went yesterday because our puppy culdnt stop scratching his little ears, & the vet checked him out & it turns out that he had ear mites :( we didnt know where he got them frm since he is our only kid :), & we had just been with him 2 days, untill he explained the mites don't come frm dogs, but from cats, && his previous owner had 3 cats but the vet gave us the treatment for his ears & he even gave him the vaccinations he needed, thanks to God who provided the means necessary :) |
