| Recent Spay Surgery...Help/Opinions Our 4 year old rescued baby recently just underwent a spay surgery and mammory tumor removal. The surgery was 5 days ago. We are a little concerned with how it looks and we're wondering if anyone else has had this issue with their yorkies. There is pretty bad bruising and a very stiff lump on the inside. We took her to the vet two days after the surgery to address this issue and they had us come back today when the surgeon who performed the surgery was in. She seemed to think it was a reaction to the stitches. Also beyond our belief they removed the stitches after only 5 days!! I guess we are a little concerned on whether or not the vet butchered our baby, and if anyone has had any issues like this before with their yorkie. I'll attach a couple pictures of her stomach. What do you guys think? |

Donating YT 30K Club Member | It doesn't look like any incision mine have ever had from a spay. It looks so painful for your baby and I would be worried also about the risk of infection. I would get her to a different vet tomorrow. Did they give you any medicine for pain and infection? Please let us know how she is doing.

| There does seem to be alot of bruising but you said that she had more than just a usual spay. Hopefully someone will come along that has alot more experience with this. What did the surgeon say about the bruising? |

| The surgeon said that the bruising was likely from accidentally pinching a vein. We do have anti-inflammatory medicine we are giving her as well as pain relievers. We put neosporine on her incision last night and the redness has gone down quite a bit but the lump is still there. Hopefully warm compressions as well as the medicine will help bring this down. |
