| You could give her a little bit of Nutrical or pancake syrup... Check her gum color... should be pink....

| If you see blood in her stool, or her gums turn grayish white, or if she appears bloated, it means see could be bleeding internally. This is an extreme emergency... Do you have anyone, friends or relatives you could borrow money from? Have you applied for a CareCredit card...do this online...

| You need to get her to the ER TONIGHT. You need to call on friends & relatives to help out NOW as it sounds like she may have a puncture & if this is the case she will not live till 9:00 A.M. & if she makes it till then she will most likely be too toxic to be saved. I will be praying for your pup. |

| She vomited once and had some loose stool? I would withhold food for now like the vet suggested. If she continues to vomit, she definitely needs to be seen!

| If there is any sign of blood in her vomit or in her diarrhea you need to take her in. It could be a rupture in her stomach or intestines. I'm no expert. I am just telling you what is common sense. Sending prayers and thoughts for your girl. Keep us posted.

| Just want to add that bones are a common cause of peritonitis in dogs & believe me when I say that peritonitis is not something to be messed around with. |

| Granted peritonitis is serious, but surely the dog would be showing serious symptoms of pain?

| This would depend on if there is an actual tear completely through the intestine or a tear in the lining only. If the tear is only in the lining at this point, infection can begin & then spread quickly once it starts. You could compare it to an abscess in a cat from a bite, one minute the cat appears to be fine & literally have a raging fever & serious infection the next minute. The seriousness lies in the fact that it is inside the animal where you can't see what damage is being done by the bone . The fact that the pup is vomiting & having diarrhea is the 1st sign of peritonitis. |

My guess is that the vet who saw her would have done more if he thought this was such a concern. I don't know. *shrug*
