To the OP, you did the right thing by calling the vet and asking him if this could wait, this isn't something you should ask on an online dog forum, and then expect that no one would be an advocate for your dog.

| Honestly, some people just can't let go...Chachi, with all due respect please stop trying to entice me and stop the personal attacks, this is a forum for all. Often times things are not as they seem in print, it depends on the reader..I am going to believe your just having a "moment" and not take it personal. I am ill, not dead, I have a laptop and an Iphone, both my pups sleep all day...honestly, let it go... As for my pups weight, I was making fun of the growth chart really, but really according to that chart my dog is obese... anyways HUGS and KISSES - HAPY VALENTINES DAY! p.s. MY username is my nicname and birthdate...just in case you were wondering...

| Oh my goodness gracious!!! Lynn, please don't worry about it. You did what you should have done. Your vet (the ONLY one here that has a license to practice veterinary medicine) said it is okay to wait. I don't think there are any indications here that the vet thinks this is an emergency situation. If it had to be done today, they would have told you so. If I was a vet, I wouldn't want somebody with the flu coming through my office for a recheck that can wait. YOUR VET is the only one qualified to tell you if it has to be done today. For the record, I don't care how sick I am, I still come online and post. If I had the flu and my dog was dying and/or the vet said they had to come in immediately, then I'd absolutely find a way. But for a recheck that a vet says can wait...no. Honestly, I love dogs but I don't think they are more important than people. Yes, some animals need advocates, but not one whose owner has spent 8 grand on her! Spend the day with your baby and relax.

I love these pups more than anything, and would never jeopardize them. Physically, my gastrointestinal trac will not allow me to leave the house, while I have stopped vomiting I can't seem to stop the other end..(details for clarification purposes), the hacking is another subject...but with my two girls keeping me warm and listening to their little hearts beating....I'm good...!! I really do hope everyone has a wonderful day...and apologize for any miscommunication on my part... It is funny, each time I have to run to the bathroom they slink into my spot and return to their positions each time I come back!! Just talked to my dr. said 5 days is too long, explained the cold and thennn the flu two days later, sent me some scripts for the cough. If not better by Thursday, must come in. Haven't been this sick in a loooongggg time..

Nancy, I totally respect you and your input, have since day 1. But, I don't see the parallells here. I don't think there is a time ever, that I implied that I could not take care of my girls, financially or in any other way. If I have ever, ever, ever, sounded as desperate as that poor honey than shame on me. I never responded to that thread because I was afraid I might try to pay for it with the money I need for my own. I have two special needs pups and quite frankly, I think I am a darn good owner. I could have/ and infact, was told by a couple here, to return her for a refund...I could have, probably should have NOTTTTTT. Theres a reason for everything, and I believe she ended up here beacause most .wouldn't take a loan out and spend over 8 grand on a dog they have had for less than 48 hours to find out she won't live long anyways....especially with one that is 6 years old and has cost well over 25 grand to date. Ok lets let this ride now, cuz I am becoming offended. Once and for all, I am sorry if I hurt anyones ego/feelings. I don't believe I deserve the crap that is being hurled at this point. I love YORKIE TALKS most of the time!

| I recognize that you have spent alot of money on your pups vet care and are doing alot more than alot of people would do in your position. I call truce, your post just hit me the wrong way this morning in light of the thread from the other poster that didnt take her sick pup to the vet because she wasnt feeling well. If I offended you Im sorry

| sick person/dog HI lynzy So sorry u are sick and that your dog is sick also. I feel for you and hope you and your baby feel better soon. Please don't feel bad about some posters here, they so feel for dogs and I understand that but now and again we moms need a bit of sympathy. As your vet said it was Ok to postpone a visit, so be it. I have been sick myself and can use my IPad in bed to keep in contact. So I wish you and your dog well and do sympathize. Get well soon. |

| I'm really sorry you are sick, and I hope you get better soon. You sound like you love your babies and would do anything to care for them. If your baby is under the care of a vet and he says that it's okay to wait, I think you should take care of yourself first, and that's not how I normally handle things myself, however. I agree with Carmen that you need to be strong enough to take care of your babies. There would be nothing that would stop me if I thought that my baby needed to see the vet, and it sounds like you are the same way. If your vet doesn't think waiting will harm your pup, then I'd listen to him. I had one of my babies in CHF. I took her every day for six weeks for the vet to flush out her kidneys because the enalapryl was bad for her kidneys, and we travelled 45 miles round trip each day after work and both days of the weekend. I know how serious a heart condition is. I would have done anything to help my Kiwi, but sometimes, even when we do everything right, we aren't able to save our babies. I did everything the doctor said, a doctor who I trusted implicitly, but we still lost my baby. It was not his fault nor mine. Please take care of yourself, and I hope things go really well on Friday for you and your baby. If anything changes in his health from now to Friday, call your vet and do everything you can to try to get him in before then. Feel better. Happy Valentine's Day.

| No matter how sick I am ; Kinder is first along with the parrots. I always been that way with my pets. I will go without just to give them the best but that is me. I do hope you are feeling better and you are a great Mom. Each person deals with things a little differently and maybe I am weird with pets first and me last. |

| I had this flu last week and I was in bed for to whole days. Slept the whole time. Got up to use the bathroom and back to bed. I feel so bad for you cause I know how bad this is. I also felt very guilty because I could not even get out of bed to take care of my babies and I have 5 of them. Thank God my daughter was here to help, but my babies didnt understand. I hope you feel better soon.
