| Please call your vet! They will know the answer to this and can tell you what steps to take to help your pup if it is dangerous.

| Magnesium can be very toxic to humans, especially to the heart and lungs at high doses. The dose you're taking is perfectly normal, and magnesium is an important electrolyte. But for a small dog it might be a toxic dose. I would call the vet asap!

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Go to ER immediately, this study showed a single dose of 200 mg can kill a dog. Quote:

| PS. Do not try to take care of this on your own. You don't know if inducing vomiting will be recommended, so don't do it unless they tell you to.

YorkieTalk Newbie! | Pet ER response for magnesium 200mg Thanks everyone. I called pets ER & 200mg would be very bad if it were intravenous but being in a pill form it might give her diarrhea, other than that they said watch her but there should be nothing to worry about. We all know that's easier said than done. My vet was closed and I kinda freaked. I've never had my dogs grab anything dropped before. A lesson learned. Candy |

| Great advice!! That happened to us with Ian's heartworm preventative pill. I dropped it, and within a second it was gone. Good thing it was his med! Ian should have been named Hoover, or Kirby!!!!
