pancreatitis I can't believe how clumsy I can be. I was eatting some potato chips, dropped one and my little guy got it. Scary thing is he has a history of pancreatitis. I am so careful. I never let him have a morsel of ANYTHING other than his rx diet. Do you think one chip can set off the pancreatits? Should I get him to the animal er or just keep an eye on him? How long will it take for him to have a reaction if there is going to be a reaction? I am SO ANGRY at myself! I try to be so careful!! thanks for listening. |
One of my yorkies had pancreatitis after eating a 6 ounce steak a few years ago!! He is on an rx diet now and doesn't get many treats anymore at all....but he is a food snatcher and we have to be careful. He will get a crumb here and there. His tummy has always been very sensitive and sometimes if he sneaks something he will have a little jelly/runny stool, but he is fine. One chip won't set if off....I have had these panic attacks myself! Don't worry:) |
How much does he weigh and how big a chip did you drop? When was his last bout of pancreatitis? |
Sorry...I see this is from last night... I would think if he's not showing signs by now , he'll probably be okay. Prayers for your little one... hope he's fine... |
update Thanks for understanding. When something like this happens I panic and since losing my husband a little over a year ago I don't have anyone with whom to discuss these situaitons. So, I come here. And I always find a kind understanding ear. It has been 24 hours since the little "thief" got the chip; so far no problems. I took a good look at his stool and it seems fine. No vomiting or any of the other problems usually associated with pancreatitis. So, I am hoping he is okay. Thanks for listening to me as I once again "go off the deep end". He is not only my little guy; but my only family. Have a good night! |
Glad he's doing well.... |
I am glad he is doing ok. It's hard not to worry with these little ones. |
