| Sophie Kate is Back at the Vet with Pancreatitis Well we are now on round two of Sophie Kates bout with Pancreatitis. I guess I should not say round two since the first time was in April and now July. From what my Vet told me today this is something that could be chronic with Sophie Kate. So she is spending tonight getting fluids via an IV and they are observing, hopefully if all goes well she is home tomorrow. The good news is I was able to spot her symptons really early this time and took her in first thing this morning so this is just a very mild case this time. If you can spare a prayer Sophie Kate and I would truly appreciate it.

| Thank you both, I am researching it now and I pretty sure the bite of Turkey Bacon she had on Sunday did not agree with this condition. Let's just say the person who offered her the Turkey Bacon is now on my naughty list. People need to realize when I say no people food for her I am serious, they think they are giving her a treat and it actually does more harm.

| I'm sorry to hear about Sophie Kate. Two episodes that close together definitely sounds like she may be prone. My Barney had pancreatitis at age 5 and then nothing again until last year when he was almost 10. Both times we caught it early as well. It is very stressful! I will keep you guys in my thoughts.

I ♥ Joey & Ralphie! Donating Member | Sending prayers your way, It took about a year before my son's dogs pancreatitis was under control, but a prescription dog food (Iams) and three meals a day did the trick. This can be such a painful disease, I hope you find a solution fast, but I think many people have had success with smaller more frequent meals.

| I just explain that one bite from anything from the table can easily put Ellie in the hospital or even kill her. They get the message. I'm not opposed to showing them the bill to show what they have done to my dog either. For those people that I know can't resist giving treats, I set a small bowl of something Ellie can have next to them so she gets that instead.

| I pray that Sophie Kate gets better very quickly and that she has no further bouts of pancreatitis. I know it's difficult worrying and being without your little girl. You are in my thoughts and prayers. as well.

| Turkey bacon! OMG. Hopefully she will make a quick full recovery. Like Nancy said, smaller more frequent meals have helped us. Uni just had the one bout, and now I am scared to give her anything that has fat in it as far as people food. But she gets all the veggies, fruits, she wants. For us it was lamb, and too bad bc Uni LOVES lamb. I agree with Ellie May, show them the vet bill.
