Pixie.....strange things happening I just thought i would give you an update on Pixie. We believe she may have had a stroke. When she walks she walks in circles and leans against the wall or furniture when walking. she also seems very confused, she also seems very uncoordinated and weak in all of her legs, now I know she walks funny because of her one broken leg, but this is involving all 4 legs. She has even twice today been walking to go potty and her front legs gave out and splayed causing her to fall and hit her face on the floor. She had a bad bout of diarreah this morning and then this afternoon I went to get her out of her pen to take her potty and she acted completely terrified of me, she cowed in the corner of her pen, tail down and trembling, took me almost 45 minutes to convince her to let me pick her u without her being scared, why on earth would she be scared of me???? SHe often has a very confused look on her face like the lights are on but noone is home is the look she has in her eyes quite often now. I took her to the vet on Friday to check this out and on Tuesday she will be having a CT Scan and a spinal tap, her doc told me she could have either had a stroke or it could be an infection that has the same or similar symptoms to a stoke that is why they are doing the spinal tap. Vet says he does not believe it was a serious stroke if that is what it is because her symptoms are not severe If she has had a stroke (which i pray is not the case) could it have been caused by her accident? I do not know how being hit by a car can cause a stroke but I am not sure???? |
Oh no, I am so sorry to hear this. Hopefully the vet will find out something and can help Pixie. I'm praying for Pixie and you too and sending all good thoughts and hugs. |
Oh no! So sorry to be hearing this! I am thinking anytime with any type of injury there is always a risk of blood clots causing problems... I'll be keeping her in my prayers... |
On no. I will keep Pixie in my prayers. |
I am very sorry to hear that Pixie is having more problems. Your little girl remains in my thoughts and prayers. I pray that doctors can quickly determine what is wrong and give her what she needs to heal. |
Has Pixie had an MRI & Spinal ? as these are symptoms of brain conditions other then stroke as well, such as Chiari. It could also be from the accident & she has fluid in her brain from head trauma. |
I hate to read this about little Pixie. That's so sad! I have no idea what is going on and have never experienced anything like it. I'll keep her in my thoughts and prayers. Please keep us updated. |
I am so sorry to hear about Pixie. My thoughts and prayers are with her and the vet so they can get her the help she needs in figuring out what is wrong. We went through our own scare a few days ago and with all the prayers it turned out to be nothing major. Praying for that sweet girl!!! |
I am so sorry and i hope Pixie gets better soon |
Praying for Pixie's speedy recovery from everything.... |
I'm sorry to hear Pixie is having problems. I will keep her in my prayers. Please keep us updated. |
Sorry to hear Pixie is not well and is still having problems since her accident. I'm glad to hear she's having a CT scan. We will continue to pray for little Pixie and her mommy and that the drs can get to the bottom of what's going on and help her. |
My dog, Brooke, was diagnosed with GME, Granulomatous Menigeoencephalitis. It's a brain disease and has some of the symptoms you are describing. An MRI and spinal is usually how it is diagnosed. I also thought my girl had a stroke when I first saw it. But since your baby also had an accident, there might be other factors at work. If you are eventually diagnosed with GME please feel free to contact me because I have an awesome neurologist located in Boston, that is a GME expert. Good Luck and I'm hoping its nothing serious. |
