| I work in human medicine, not veterinary, and the disease processes are different - so there are really more equipped people on this site who are in the veterinary medicine field to give you advice; however, if the vet thinks the eyes look horrible and your pup is wearing a collar 75 percent of the time, I would be concerned and be ready to try another suggestion other than the Benadryl. |

| YT 3000 Club Member | chester has enviromental allergies so far he has done well this year, if the benadyrl helps then it is not diet, amtihistamines dont work for food allergies. The thins I have done to help for chester is I use all free and clear for laundry soap, and I recently do not use the bounce free and clear dryer sheets anything that he is in contact with, no dryer sheets and an extra rinse on the wash. I use no fragrance plugs in, no carpet powder and I vacum every few days and run my air cleaner afterwards and wipe off his feet when he comes in from outside, they say 2 hrs after the lawn is mowed is the worst for them and when it is damp. I rinse him off if he gets really bad in between his baths, good luck I also use viengar and water on my laminate when I wipe it down, no cleaners at all |

| The Benadryl does help? Then it is not food. Has the vet offered to refer him to an eye specialist?

| No, and quite honestly in this area, there not much a any specialty! You just have to rely on your vet! The only thing he has suggested is the cortisone shots. But, yes, the benadryl does help. I need to take a pic of his eyes for you to see. Of course, right now, hes looking a bit better. When I get home I will take one. His eyelids are bigger than normal..I really dont know how to describe it...Ill just let you take a look.
