No money for vet

I wouldn't want to not get paid for my work, either. Vets shouldn't be expected to donate their services just because we haven't prepared for an emergency.

My regular vets have always been wonderful about setting up a payment plan for unexpected big vet bills. I think most will work with you if you are an established customer.

maybe our ER does it differently for others but since i work there i have to leave my account open until HR can look at it and let me pay it. who knows for sure about their way of running it.

and our reg. hospital is great for clients, but we do sometimes have to have payment upfront in cash or credit for "new Clients" esp. if they seem a little shady. we've had to board a coule dogs for a family that is having a hard time right now and were evicted. they were made to pay a balance upfront for boarding so we didn't get two dogs dumped on us. we have to be careful when they visit the dogs not to let them outside in case they try to leave without paying as well...

People do all sorts of things to get out of paying a vet or boarding bill. I still remember when I first moved to Raleigh 15 years ago, there was a big story on the news about all the people who dumped their pets off at the shelter before Christmas. They used the local shelter as a free boarding facility, thinking they could come back in a week and pick their pets up. Sadly, most people didn't realize that their pets could be euthanized in 5 days and many were.

oh that is truely awful!! people are insane when it gets into times of economic crisis like this. i mean Mike and I are doing pretty well right night and God has blessed us greatly. i still come from a meager begginning that makes it so hard to spend money unless i really really have to. i'm just glad that i'm able to take care of the things I need and blessed to have my ends met.

Ahhh, to be young and flexible. I remember when my ends met. Can't bend that way anymore. Too old.

I was going to suggest this. Google your local humane society or s/n clinic. The one i go to the office visit is only $15. i would not suggest going to the petsmart vet as someone suggested. They always try to tack on extra stuff and try to sell you flea formula when you are not even there for fleas (for example). Also their office visit is $50 and even if you go during "wellness hours" you still get the office visit fee charged bc your pup is not "well" during the wellness hours.

This is the low cost s/n clinic. You can also bring in your pets for more minor things. But call first for walk in times (they are walk in only) and in the mornings the dr is is surgery. He doesn't start seeing patients till about 1pm, but people start lining up around noon. Very low costs though. I've gone there a few times before. I do like them a lot. goldenstatehumanesociety.com

This is the full service hospital I took Uni in for bloodwork. They are also very good, 100% good reviews on yelp. Very good prices for a full service hospital. I am definitley having Uni spayed here. Garden Grove Dog and Cat Hospital
