Head tilt
 

Today Mickey, my 6 y.o. Yorkie began tilting his head to one side and appeared very lethargic. This never happened before and we decided not take any chances and took him to the vet. Once he reached the vet's office he seemed normal (besides just being nervous for be at vet's) and the vet did a general checkup (even checked his ears) and said everything was fine. Well, once we brought him home he began doing it again. It's very disturbing because the vet says nothing appears wrong but I see this is not the same Mickey. Anyone had this happen before?

I hope you get some answers here...Just give it a few sec's...the best will chime in with some support and information for you...;)

Is he eating and drinking and eliminating normally? Did they check his temp at the vet's? I ask this because sometimes techs will skip temping for some reason or another. Pups can mask how they're feeling when stressed (at the vets) same way sometimes people's Blood Pressure may check higher than usual when at the Doctor's office. Do you see any discharge/gook in his ear? Does his ear smell bad? Does he walk in circles or or bump into things at all? When was his last bath? Could he have gotten water in his ear? Does he head tilt all the time or intermittently?Can you take a video of him while he's doing his head tilt and show it to your vet?

My Bella's head is tilted. You might want to read over my posts to see if sounds like your little one.

follow this link and get to neurologist as that is not normal and if ears are fine then could be neurological or vestibular :(

I'm sorry your Mickey is not doing well.....I hope it's nothing serious......

How's your little one doing?

Sorry for the long time taken to reply. Mickey was fine by the time we got to the vet and he had no idea what it could be. It was a strange situation but I'm glad he's OK! :D

Well, unfortunately it happened again. Same situation: took him to the vet, he seemed fine and checked out normal. Came home and it started again. Not as bad, but he's still not well. We will have blood workup results tomorrow.

Anyone else experience the same thing?

Do you have a way to take a video of him & post it here ?

Update:

Mickey returned completely to normal two days after the initial head tilt. All his bloodwork was normal (except a slightly low WBC). Thanks so much for everyone's care. You're all truly helpful!
