Tammy, those babies look really good. Livi does, too. Wonderful..just wonderful! Much better than I had pictured in my mind. Every baby I've ever hand fed was so much smaller and less robust. You've done a great job. Just play it by ear as you wean them off your support. Being so young, they are still vulnerable and you've already seen how quickly they can drop off, but they look really good. I can't get over how bright the pink is on the parti babies....almost neon. They remind me of the Korean pups with the fluorescent gene implanted in them. Genetically Engineered Pups Glow Red |
Oh my goodness, keep up the good work Tammy! Those babies bellies are adorable and nice and plump! Your doing something right and all your efforts are paying off! Adorable! Thank you for taking the time to post! I have been reading daily and praying consistently for you all!:) |

Ahhhhh :)! Okay, those round full little tummies :p? I'm no expert, but they really look wonderful! And Livi looks bright eyed and great too, Tammy! So great to see these pics. You're doing such an amazing job...hang in there. I hope you are able to get some rest; I can't imagine how drained you must be right now. |
Oh Tammy, the pups and Livi look great. Bright eyes on Livi, round tummies on the pups, you're doing a wonderful job with them - hang in there! :) |
Tammy, thanks for taking the time to post pics, the pups look soo cute & chubby! Livi girl looks beautiful. You're doing great, remember when I said I admire you breeders?;) |
Jim~ That website was neat and their tummies do look like my guys! :) Livi's puppies have such a really pretty bright pink color to their tummy. |
I think you guys are giving me far too much credit for how these puppies look. They were such healthy chubby spunky puppies....up till I gave Livi that stupid pill on Friday morning. It was within 5 hours that my active spunky puppies became gassy, weak, tired, almost lifeless. :( They even started having diarhhea. Our vet told us when Geoff rushed in Friday evening that it was more than likely the medicine and that it would have to run its course and we could only hope for the best and that they would go back to being strong again. She told us the best that she could do was to give the sub-q fluids and glucose...she told us basicially she would give us support and just wait it out and see what the aftermath would be. Luckily, they are getting stronger and trying to get back to their spunky selves. I am super thankful for this vet!! We were able to keep them alive because she gave those fluids on Friday and then again when we took all three and Livi on Saturday morning. I am lucky that these babies did start off so chubby and healthy!! Lets just hope that Livi's milk continues to come in. Since we couldn't let them nurse until the vet felt that the pill was out of her system, things have kind of gone haywire (plus, Livi was VERY stressed during all of this so I am sure that did not help). :( I just finished a feeding so I am headed to bed for a few hours. Maybe when I get up for the next one, Livi will be nursing them with a belly full of milk and doesn't need me to use the dropper. (Fingers crossed!) |

Tammy how is everyone doing today? Are you still needing to supplement? |
Wow! What an amazing ride! Tammy, I really applaude you and your DH for all the patience you have with these tiny babies and the precious mommy. You are most definitely the reason these babies have those little round pink bellies. :D You're doing great and I just know everything is going to be fine!:) |
I just checked in and saw the pictures of the puppies. They look wonderful! I am so glad that they and momma are doing so well. And you do deserve credit for saving them. You only did what the vet told you, thinking that he knew what he was doing. And you were so on top of it when things started to not go so good. You nursed all those puppies and Livi back to good health. You are one of the best yorkie mamma's around. Some would not have taken the time or spent the money for all those trips to the vet and all the time it is taking to feed the pups. GOOD JOB!!!! Keep us posted on how things are going. |
Just catching up on status of Livi and pups. WOW, they all look so good! Livi looks great, got that fabulous pretty face back on her. Tammy..........you are INCREDIABLE!!! |
Adorable pictures and those bellies look so full |
You are a wonderful Mom. I know you and your DH are very tired. Livi is a beautiful girl and so are those babies. My DH and I have been watching your thread. Husband wants to know how Livi is doing each time I go on the thread. Take care of yourself and the kids. |
Any updates? |
Wow, what fat lil pup's you have:D Good luck and may they continue to grow...nice, fat and happy:) |
I've been following this thread and I just wanted to check to see how Livi and the puppies are doing. Thanks for the pictures. Glad to hear things are better :aimeeyork:aimeeyork |
Checking to see how everyone is doing.' |
Hi all!! :) Sorry for the late update...things have kind of calmed with the puppies and Livi, but my kiddos woke up last night running fevers. Today was full of taking care of my children...my daughter stayed home from Kindergarten so hopefully she will feel more rested and fever free for school tomorrow. Since I was busy with my children today, I didn't feed the puppies as regulary as I was but they were still gaining (I made sure to keep up with weighing them). So I guess it's safe to assume that Livi has some milk (even though I can't get any out when I check) I have a question about this feeding. I fed Cinnamon because she was acting hungry and she is my smallest. But I weighed Cupcake and Cadbury and they have both gained and look VERY round. So between me feeding them throughout the day and Livi nursing them, I guess they are getting enough. ?? My question...since they both look full and are peacefully sleeping and the scale shows a good gain, do I skip the dropper feeding and only do it if they stop showing an increase in weight? I am VERY nervous to skip their feeding(s), but I don't think that their tummies could hold any more. I am just very surprsied to see such gain when Livi appears to have absolutely NO milk!! What should I do?? |
Tammy - I can't help you as far as when you should be feeding the babies, I just wanted to chime in my two cents worth - OMG those are the cutest babies ever!!! They look so good and I absolutely love the round full puppy bellies! LOL Livi is looking good too. Glad things are working out. Hope your skin kids are feeling better soon! |

It's your call Tammy, on whether to stop eye drop feeding, if you're uncomfortable don't stop. If you're unsure of whether she has milk or not....get her back to the vet and have the vet check her. I know you're not wanting to upset the apple cart, when things are going so good, so don't take any chances. |

My kiddos are doing okay...as long as I keep both Tylenol and Ibuprofin in them. I just hope that it doesn't go into an ear infection or Pnuemonia with my son...poor guy doesn't usually get over common things like a cold or the flu without them going into something else as well. Right now, they are quiet...but they were laying in bed giggling. ;) We let them lay in our bed while my husband and I are the living room. Not sure what it is but when a child is sick, they always want to be in mommy and daddy's bed to rest. :) |
Tammy if their tummies are full, I would skip the one feeding. Remember just because you can't express milk doesn't mean she doesn't have any. I never could express milk from Harmony but her babies are nice and full all the time, they have a way of getting it out better. They are sooo adorable!! Nice and plump, very healthy babies!! You're doing an excellent job!! |
