Im glad hes better Ive been worried about him |
I'm so glad to hear he is doing better, and that you came to give us an update. I agree with nancy1999. You need to have a plan for emergencies. I also hope that you have now researched and learned what you can and cannot feed a yorkie. |
Another divine intervention. |
to get him to eat try boiled chicken and rice; or gerber baby food; good luck |
I have a 4 yr old male yorkie. For the past 6 days I haven't been able to get him to eat. I've been feeding him chicken soup, beef broth with mashed up rice and some smoked trout broth all with a little maple syrup. He drinks water and goes pee but other than that just sleeps and is listless. I have to force feed him with an eye dropper. I fed him a couple of hot dogs about 10 days ago could that be the problem. I know I should take him to the vet but I don't have the money. Is there anything I can do to get him to eat solid food? Help!
Quote:

It is obvious you love your little baby. Although we do not personally know you or your dog, we have compassion and empathy. You asked for help and we gave it. whether or not it was what you expected or wanted to hear we thought of you, your dog and mostly his well being. In life sometimes we must make difficult decisions. I hope that you felt the support that was given to you by everyone that responded to this thread. Please keep us updated on he does. BTW, what is his name? Would love to see pictures and welcome to YT. Hope you stick around as there is much to learn about these little guys. :) |
hi guys; i don't think dragon-9 meant to be rude; i think he/she wanted to let us know that her/his dog is doing better; and there is no need for futher advice. let's give her/him the benefit of the doubt and wait to see a response. at least we all know that we gave the best advice we can and did our part. dragon-9 best of luck with you dog :) and thanks everyone :) |

In the meantime, Ol'Roy is probably the WORST food available on the market. Just about anything would be better than this crap. No wonder your baby is skinny & doesn't eat well. Some good foods I can think of right off are Nature's Variety, Innova, Wellness, Orijen, Taste of the Wild. Go to www.dogfoodanalysis.com & do some reading. |
Thanks.. But he is my first dog i have no clue what to do it was a gift from my husband |

Thanks for the update and the photo.....I feel a great sense of relief to know that Max is feeling better. Best of luck to you...... |
Very happy to hear that Max is feeling better. Please don't feed him any people food (which I'm sure you know not to now)...they have such sentitive tummys. Also consider changing vets, not sure why he/she wanted to take x-rays & thought it was a blockage. Even I knew that (it wasn't a blockage) & I'm not a vet...:p |

Thanks for the update and the picture. Max is a cutie pie! So glad that he's doing much better. :) |
Thanks for the update! Glad to hear everything is better. |
Max is adorable. What a happy ending to see he's feeling so much better. What a terrible thing to happen to him. I hope you only feed him dog food and some boiled chicken from here on in. Please not table food. It's not worth the risk. Dog's will eat anything. It's up to us, the owner's to see that get only what they should get. Dog food. I am so happy this baby is better. |
