| bloody horror picture with happy ending hi all wud like to share an experience i had yesterday... 2 days ago my old son bailie had vomit and diarrhea. not too unusual.. then yesterday i come home from work and all over the livingroom floor blood everywhere .. i mean covered it was like horror picture by then i had to take him to emergency vet. they give him 2 injections and antibiotics. i thought parvo,, but he is all up to date on vacc.. she said stress related i cud not understand,, but no infection.. temp normal etc. then i mentioned my little beau went in to get spayed and 16 teeth out a week ago.. vet said that cud have caused it... but he on the mend. very weekstill. i thought i was loosin him . omg wat a week i have had, he stressed lol i bloody stressed |

| that is exactly what i thought when i seen it. she said she happy enough with him. the 2 injections she give him has seemed to work he has not thrown up and no sign off blood. but i not to feed him till tomorrow. it was a horrific sight to witness. she did say if it happens again then to bring him straight back. |

| Did they test for parasites as this can also happen with giardia (and stress can definitely trigger a giardia episode)...

| no they just checked him over by feeling him all over around the abdomin area, took temp checked eyes and gums, she said all is fine, i kept trying to tell her how much blood there was, it did not seem to worry her. she said he not hydrated . so not much to worry about unless it happens again. he is more settled now but what a terrible couple of days we all had.. |

| I forgot to ask, did your vet do bloodwork? That's the only way to diagnose HGE. The red blood count (packed volume) will be 60 or above. |

| today bailie is doin great well so far, this is the first day he will have dinner, just to make him bland food like boiled rice . thanks u all for input have great sunday |
