sore feet
 

The weather has been finally nice enough to get outside and take the dogs (and kids :p) to the local park for walks. After a long weekend stuck in the house because of the rain, yesterday afternoon once it cleared up we decided to take the all of the kids for a walk. We walked less than an hour and stopped at the beach so the kids could explore and I noticed that poor little Tucker's pads were all red and irrated. :( It didnt seem to bother him, he wanted to keep going and actually got mad when I didnt put him down :rolleyes:. I carried him to the van and we left. This morning when I took him out to potty they were clearly bothering him. He wouldnt walk much and kept lifting his front paw up. I checked it again and it was even redder than it was yesterday, not bloody or tore anywhere but clearly irrated. :( Im pretty sure he spent alot of time last night licking them. Anyways I spoke with the vet this morning and she said that there really wasnt much I could do, other than putting some neosporin type cream on them, but he would probably just licked it off. He will probably be sore for a couple of days. :( Any advice?? Do yorkies typically have sensitive pads?
I feel so bad, :(I really didnt think we were gone that long. He gets so excited when we go for walks, we are just going to have to make them shorter..
