Hi Vicky, When you say raw food, does that mean uncooked home-made food. What vaccinations did you have done, and how old was your little one when you had this problem. Just had my new guy (year old) vaccinated for rabies, the breeder did the other three needles. Wondering what the best thing to do with vaccinations - once year, once three years - none after the first year. Thanks! |
Violet came home last night! We got home around 10pm, and she was soo happy to be here! I took her out of her carrier and set her down on the floor and her little tail was wagging and she spent the next hour either right at my feet or sitting with me on the floor. :) She ate a little boiled chicken, even! She didn't sleep well last night - I heard her little cone clunking around in her crate all night, but she is napping comfortably now. She had some more chicken at 4am, and more at 8am. So far it has all stayed down! Knock on wood, though! The hardest part has been getting her to take her medications. She is on 4, and she shrieks and generally freaks out if I try to give them by syringe, so I've been mixing them into her food, which, so long as she continues to eat should work! Thanks again to all of you for your prayers and support. I am so glad she's home, and am praying she stays on the path toward recovery! |
Im so happy she is feeling better.. |
Wonderful news! I am so happy for you and for little Violet!! |
Praise God that she is so improved & home with you & eating. Prayers for the medicine to continue to get into her system & do the work to make her better. I'm sure your love and care will be great medicine for her too |
I'm so glad to hear that violet is doing better!! that's great news and i'm sure she feels better to be in her own home! |
Milo had an episode like this once and it was because he was eating rabbit droppings in our back yard... I hope that your baby keep getting better! |
Violet is doing much better... she has not thrown up since Friday around noon, she is hungry all the time (in fact, she keeps running over to her bowl to see if food has spontaneously appeared there!), and she is playful again! My new job is to keep her calm and prevent her from harming her incision. I feel badly about it, but when she gets into her little "I want to play" stance, I have to refuse so she'll stay calm. Her incision is really long, and still looks very scary to her poor mommy. Now I think it's just a matter of time for her incision to heal. Yay! Oh, and her intestinal biopsy results came back and the vet said they were completely normal, so she is convinced this was just a really nasty virus that took a LONG time to go away. Thank you so much for all of your support and well wishes! Violet sends puppy kisses to all of you! :) |

I just read your thread.......I'm glad you have your baby home and wish you continued healing and happiness! |
I am so happy to hear your little one is doing better! What a nightmare you had! |
I just read your thread right now. I am so happy that Violet is doing much better.I am sorry about all the sicknesses she has gone through. I had the same experience with my Snickers. He had a big incision too after his liver shunt surgery. I kept him calm most of the time because he had so many clips. He recovered very fast and he did so well for the next one and a half years. I heard about Y.T. after he passed away. I wish I would have known Y.T. before.I will be praying for Violet's recovery. God bless you and Violet! |
