| 14 year old yorkie stroke victim: UPDATE Thanks to all who sent prayers and positive thoughts our way. Five weeks ago yesterday, our 14 yr. old blind yorkie with diabetes had a stroke.....oooooops. When we found her she was limp, totally paralyzed and very near death. After 5 weeks of intense therapy, care, medications, etc. she is now up and moving around. Her back legs are now fully functional and she it trying very hard to use both front feet....not quite figured it out totally yet, but she is making remarkable progress and at this rate she should be fully recovered within the next week to ten days..... According to my research, dogs can have strokes and if they do, they can make a full recovery in 5 to 8 weeks if they are kept fed, hydrated, etc..... So far all is right on schedule for a full recovery. Thanks to all.....Dale |
