| Who did you adopt your yorkie from? I think it would be fun to see how our members acquired their yorkie babies. We have a huge membership and there are a lot of yorkies represented here so, IMO, we are a good cross section of the yorkie owning community. If you own more than one yorkie, please tell us from what source you adopted the first one you got. Last edited by SoCalyorkiLvr; 06-07-2005 at 03:04 PM. |

| This is a good idea! I am interested to see how it all turns out! Sully came from a hobby breeder named Brenda, in Lafollette, TN (north of Knoxville)

| I forgot to include "broker" in the choices but I guess people can use "other" for that category. Thanks for your responses. |

| I got Simon from the vet (I guess that's other) when his original owner left him there b/c he wasn't "perfect" (he certainly is to me)! I got Hallie from the animal cops who took her from being abused and starved! I get sad whenever I think about what would have happened to either of them. |

| I got mine from my cousin. She is a beginner breeder. I guess you would call her a hobby breeder. |

| I got Gucci from a private party/non breeder in NYC. He is not selling Yorkies anymore last I heard. He last Litter which was the one I got Gucci from gave him a lot of headaches. They all had ringworm and coccidia. When I went to his house to pick Gucci she looks fine, a week after was when I noticed a smal bald spot. It turned out to be ringworm. When I contacted him back he said his guarantee only cover genetic defects. I was lucky I found here a member who got Gucci's littermate and he also got ringworm and coccidia and the guy returned to her $300. So when I contacted the Guy again he then told me that he find out after I got Gucci that the pups had the ringworm, and since I knew he gave a refund, he refunded me $200. WOw, I guess I got out of topic. |

| A Danish breeder who breeds all kinds of terriers for show and family, but specializes in Yorkies. She and her husband have this great big farm a few hours south of here where they keep the dogs. I love going to that place - they love the dogs so much and are so proud to show them all

| Toto came from a show breeder [Tyava] and was such a perfect little angel! We just wanted a healthy pet and that's exactly what she was! In less than two years we have managed to turn her into a chubby, spoiled rotten little angel brat!! Yep, Miss Prissy Paws has pretty much "rocked our world!!"

| my little chica Poochie was an 'accident'! LOL Her 'breeder' actually breeds toy yorkies and orange pomeranians separately... but somehow, when nobody was looking, her itty bitty yorkie stud got with her 9 lb pom and had one of the most adorable "oops" litters I had ever seen! So now, I have an orange yorkie with a pom tail. |
