She definately know's Flash's name. You can say "Flash" in a conversation and Trixie jumps strait up and stares at you and runs to the back door to wait for her to be let in. (Flash stays outside alot during the day.)

I would say sometimes...I think that they do know me as mommy but only sometimes choose to listen!!

Whew, I'm glad you did this poll. Now I don't feel so bad about reffering to ourselves as "the mommy" and "the daddy" anymore. Everyone else always looks at us like we've lost our minds!!

When he's working late or travelling, my husband's dogs will sit at the bedroom door and watch down the hall waiting to hear him come in. If I tell them "no, the daddy' they know that he won't be home that night and will settle in and go to sleep. If I don't say that, they will sit there and stare down the hall until 'the daddy' comes home.

They also know each others names.

Twinkie has been with us for only a week so its pretty early for her to know our names. She does listen to her name though so that is a good start!!!

Stewie thinks my name is "mommy" he also knows "gramma" and "grampa"
