Up here in PA they're called crayfish. I have never had crawfish/crayfish. (I'm trapped in Pennsylvania Dutch cooking-land.) Are they similar to langostinos? |
They are called crayfish here too :p ... but we mostly find them in pet stores :) |

I've not had "authentic" cajun crawfish, but there are a lot of vietnamese-american places here in Orange County that serve "cajun style" crawfish and are REALLY popular here. Crawfish just take so much effort to eat with not much meat, but when they are cooked properly oh are they SO good! and yes I love to suck the brains out of their heads :D:thumbup: I've also noticed a lot of asian buffets around here are putting crawfish on the menus, not tasty to eat those buggers when they are made in mass quantities like that, watery and rubbery, and yet I see people bringing mounds and mounds of them back to their tables  |

haha, he made it out of the pot! Is it common to see them walking about your neck of the woods at all? I thought they were more of a wet habitat type creature. |

" Controversy In March 2006, Long John Silver's garnered controversy by offering buttered lobster bites advertising that they include "langostino lobster".[4] The controversy remains due to ambiguity on whether the langostino should be classified as a lobster, a crab, or neither. A Los Angeles Superior Court judge made no decisions in April 2006 on the matter when a class-action lawsuit was brought against Rubio's Restaurants, Inc., for selling "lobster burrito" and "lobster taco" that were in fact made with squat lobster. [edit] References Haha, that was the exact burrito I was talking about. I was fully expecting that nice crunch when you bite into lobster, and they were these tiny little s*** pieces, I was so disappointed. I haven't regularly eaten there since then. Their fish tacos are garbage. blech! |
