Some recent pictures of Fern, my parrotlet.. 3 Attachment(s) I was telling Connie about my parrotlet and I promised her some pictures. I thought I'd post them here so everyone can see! I took these this morning. I tried to get her to sit on the pumpkin but she wasn't having any of that. :p She doesn't sit still for two seconds so it's hard to take pictures of her. ETA: She begins to molt her baby feathers so she looks a little raggedy in the first picture. :) |
I really like the name Fern. She is really cute. |
She is really cute. I love the picture of her trying to eat the pumpkin. |
Wow! She is so pretty! I love her name! Will she learn to talk? Thanks for the pics! She is pretty young, huh? Was she hand fed? I'm figuring that as she seems so tame! Congrats on your cute little Fern!!! |

She is great! I'd love to get another one (a green male) but I'd worry about her becoming overly attached to him and not be as tame. |
I don't know much about pet birds, but she sure is pretty. :) Do you worry about her around your yorkies? |
Just wanted to say, I love that name Fern! It's a perfect bird name! SO cute! My parents were contemplating naming me that  not that bad, but if you knew my maiden name (which was a word for some kind of foliage) it made it into the cheesiest name ever! Good thing they changed their minds! |
......oooohhhhhh she is so cute.....now I want one!! |

When I first got her she flew right off my shoulder and towards Brooklyn who was at the opposite end of the couch! He snapped out at her out of fear, I guess. Luckily he just snapped her tail and didn't do any damage. Fern wasn't phased by it in the least bit. :p She is NOT afraid of anything. Thanks for all the nice comments, everyone. :) |
She's cute! I too love the picture of her trying to eat the pumpkin |
Very interesting. You would say she makes a good pet then? |
Ahhhh, Fern is beautiful. I love her green color. I used to have an Eclectus male parrot. He was emerald green with the candy corn beak. He was absolutely stunning but boy are parrots hard work. You would think how could such a little, bitty thing make such a mess...lol. I had to give him (after 4 years) to my friend down in Georgia because the winters we get up here were not being kind to his feathering so she has Tucker now and after a year his feathering is looking beautiful again with all the humidity and no snow down in Augusta. Fern is cute and I do miss my birdie they are lots of fun and I had 3 cats with our bird and the cats were more afraid of the bird so I don't think you'll have a problem with your baby. Love the pictures - now's the best time for them to eat all the small pumpkins and poms. ;) |
she's really pretty, i love her color. do parrotlets stay that small? |
She's really cute! I love the name too! I have a lovebird and he is full of personality and loves the cats and dogs! I think you will really enjoy having a bird.:D |
