TESSA as a Baby and wow - the memories

Tessa is my favorite cocker. Specially when she does the rug. I have a question? Howcome she has much longer bangs than the other two? Do cockers have different coats. I have seen other this way also.

It is the way they are cut. There are so many styles for cockers. Wait I take that back. There are two types of cockers spaniels, the American Cocker Spaniel and the English Cocker Spaniel. The English Cocker Spaniel does have a different coat and a slighty different look, most people have an American Cocker Spaniel though. My Peppi use to always get a cocker cut and she did have bangs. Now I keep her in a puppy cut that looks great on her, and she doesn't have any bangs right now, but it is easier to manage.
The only thing I don't like about black cockers is that you can't see their face too well in pictures. I have even got professional pictures done of Peppi and you still can't see her face very well. But you can see her eyebrows, they are tan and if it weren't for them you wouldn't see her eyes at all in pictures.

Tessa is so gorgeous!! I just love cockers!! I know what you mean by it gets harder to hold them. Peppi is only 26 pounds but that is still alot bigger than what she use to be years ago.

Here is a picture of Peppi and you can see her face only because of the tan points.

and Ceaser - yes they can have different coats but I used to keep her longer till I got tired of keeping up with the hair especially since getting the yorkie girls -

Here's a shot with Lady and Tessa in the same cut - you can see the coat is pretty identical - this is making me SO sentimental We lost Lady just a few weeks after these pictures....The 2nd picture sleeping with her little buddy (Chanel) was when she first started in Renal Failure

My husband used to be the picture taker and he really did a great job keeping up with our life - (now all the pictures only have dogs in them lol) but when I got to pictures I took of HIM - I just had to put them down.

OMG V! what beautiful babies!! My very first dog I bought on my own was a blonde cocker...Her name was Nellie...they are the cutest puppies! about 3 yrs after we got Nellie I bought another..(I was going to breed) He was a little black cocker...He looked just like yours! He was sick...we had to have him put down when he was just 10 months old...it broked my heart...I just love cocker spaniels....they can be a little tempermental though...I found my female wasn't very good with little kids...And....you look great! My husband looked at your pics and said you were very pretty and looked like Dolly Parton! I think it's cause of the second pic with the blue shirt LOL!

I'm so sorry about your baby - and you're SO right - cockers are the CUTEST PUPPIES EVER !! OMG when I saw Tessa I was head over heels in love - I used to call her ET cause she had the cutest little puggy face...

I've heard cockers could be a bit tempermental but I have to say - the 3 I had/have are AWESOME girls - never a bit of drama and always sweet as can be. Tessa really is a love - she's fantastic with everyone....

I used to take her to work with me all the time ....she'd make her rounds of the whole company and show off her High-5 Kissing trick - then she'd hang out with me at my desk...

The girls adore her - they tag team her all the time and she makes them SQUEAL with happiness when she plays with them

thank you and just so you know after reading YOUR response I Finally used that Hair frosting kit that's been sitting in my bathroom for over 2 months lol - I did GREAT this time - last time I had a skunk stripe so anything but that is a GOOD HAIR DAY LOL

Thank You V for the compliment!! That picture was one of the very few pictures where you can actually see her face, most the time you just see a black shadow. Peppi is 8, she will turn 9 in february. She was the runt of the litter so she is just a little bit smaller than most cockers. She still has a lot of spunk in her at times. She is not hyper, she never was but she doesn't act old in any way.

Just have to ask, do you think most cockers are snappy?? Everytime I go somewhere with Peppi, people just love her, she has a great personality, loves everyone even kids. She has a routine she does everytime she meets someone. She is all wags and wiggles and kisses and then real quick she flops down and rolls over waiting for a belly rub. She does it so fast and automatic, it is hilarious to watch. But after they meet her they always comment that they are suprised that she is so sweet and friendly because most cockers are snappy. I have never thought of them like this, but I have gotten this same comment nearly a hundred times.

That's SO cute !! Tessa does her high five trick with new people - but she stops in mid air cause she realizes it isn't MY face she's jumping up to kiss - it's really funny -

but to answer your question - after THREE Cockers - They were never snappy - not once. They all had the best personalities and my only wish was they didn't have such ear problems. Other than that - even though Yorkies now have my heart....
I'd have a houseful if I could - I think they're awesome dogs
