| Westies Does anyone out there have a Westie? I have always loved those dogs, but we don't have room for a second furbaby. Do they get along well with Yorkies? How much bigger are they??

| I have a Westie! We love her. She is about 15 lbs. There was a bit of a conflict when we got her because Edie was used to being the only dog. But they have adjusted, and now they are partners in crime! Breezy is definitely a terrier, and she is more independent than my Yorkie. She likes to chase birds, and sometimes she catches them. She is SO LOVEABLE. I highly recommend Westies. Westies DO SHED--not like a labrador retriever, but they shed. They can also have skin issues, but we give Breezy a fish oil tablet daily, and she has had no problems. She will be 9 years old in August--we adopted her about 2.5 years ago. |

| I had a westie when I got my first yorkie. They got along great. I love westies. I have tons of westie collectibles. I really need to downsize my collection. Westies and yorkies are definitely my favorite breeds.

| Thanks guys! I really want one, but our apartment is so small that it can only really support one puppy. Plus, I think Allie needs to grow up some and she needs some Mommy and Me time first.... But one day I would like one. When we get a house, my DH wants an English Bulldog.... Crazy household we'll have....

| I have Cairns, bred & shown them for years. Cairns & Westies used to be the same breed. Then they began to register any white puppies in a litter as West Highland Whites, the rest....greys, reds, creams, brindles etc Cairns, till the breed became seperate at the Kennel Club in the 1920's. But in conformation they are still the same except for colour & being clipped for show differently. They're bigger than most Yorkies, though not some teacups! The standard is 14lbs. They're terrific little dogs. I have Cairns, Yorkies & Skyes, they get along fine. xx Emmy |
